Swimming

We are travelling somewhere warm with a pool :

I will be using disposibles on this trip for convenience. What should I use in the water though? Don't disposables burst in water? Should I bring some of my cloth just for that?
Any suggestions? I also have a kushies bathingsuit from my eldest dd that *might* fit her. If it does, do I need a diaper in it too?

I can't believe that I forget all of this!!
Thanks!

If you have a swim diaper you don't need to put anything in it... but if it is just a bathing suit it needs something under it. They make sposie swim diapers, or you could probably use just a cover?

We have a Kushies swim diaper. But basically, it's a cover, so you could probably just use a cover with no diaper in it. It is not absorbent at all. Just a poo-catcher.

As long as it will catch/hold the poo that's all that matters. IMO the disposable swim diapers are an absolute waste of money. I think a small cover would work fine if you can't get your hands on an actual swim diaper.

And, yeah, disposables literally explode when put in the pool - it makes quite the mess!! lol

Beware of pocket dipes in the pool. Mine filled up with water and weighted dd down when we did it.

ITA. I always thought they are safe to use in the car on the way to the pool. Luckily we never had an accident but some other mom did and I decided to ditch the disposable swim diapers and get DS a reusable one. All they really do is hold in poo. You can get them fairly well priced at Target.

We always just use a diaper cover one size too small.

I love the Imse Vimse swim diapers. It's reusable and for girls they have a cute little swim top, so you don't even put on a separate swim suit. Just the swim diaper and top!
