Good Bye Mucus Plug

WOOHOOO!!! So I have assumed all along that I lost my mucus plug because over the last 2 weeks I have seen bits and pieces of it here and there. But this morning, I lost the rest of it.

I'm 3 cm dilated, 100% effacted, buldging waters, and have been in ptl since 24 weeks, so I felt for sure it was already gone. Well I woke up this morning to brown sludge in the toilet. It wasn't pink like everyone else describes but instead brownish, but that could be from the dried blood from my vaginal exam on tuesay where the Dr checked to see if my waters were leaking. Regardless, there it was sitting in the bottom of the toilet this morning as well as snotty like on the toilet paper. Sorry if this is TMI, but I'm rather excited. I know it doesnt really mean anything as it can regenerate on its own, but I am just so pumped to be able to cross that one thing off my list.

Hope this means something for you!

I never lost my mucous plug that I noticed with the boys or had any early signs of labor. We are due on the same day and I can't cross anything off of a list!

Mine have always been brownish and gummy/snotty too.

It's awfully exciting to see and feel the evidence of our bodies getting ready. Can you imagine any other time in your life that you would be excited to see something like that in the toilet bowl?

I know its not supposed to mean anything, but I would be super excited. the only time I ever noticed mine was with my last pregnancy. It came out whole with a little blood and I was in labor less than a day later!

mine was like that too...it probably wont regenerate at this stage, and you'll probably go soon. After mine came out like that, it stayed gone.

So lucky! : You are due like 9 days after me too! All I've had so far is cramping.

How exciting!! Hopefully it does mean something is happening sooner than later for you! I'm so glad for you that you've held onto him since your ptl started!

Hmmm...I've been having very light-colored gummy/snotty here and there all week. I don't recall whether it happened with ds1. I figure that since my cervix was 6cm at 18 weeks(!), that it's just doing a lot of thinning out. Things are moving along for a lot of us, I guess!!

That is exciting! 100% effaced? You may not have much work ahead of you once you get into active labor!

Yep, I have been 100% effaced for about a week now. My good friend is a L&D nurse and she said the same thing about labor possibly being quick since i'm already dialted to 3 and 100%, I guess we shall see!! I keep joking that maybe I did too good of a job trying to keep him in during all of my PTL, and now he doesnt want to come out. I have a mental picture of someone trying to be forced through a door way and holding out there arms and legs to stop them from coming out. I can only imagine that is what London is doing in there right now HAHAHAHA.

I'm due on the same day as you, but I don't think my baby is ready... funny after all the bedrest and worried about PTL, he's riding up high with no signs of coming too soon. I'm ok with that though... I just keep wondering "when"..

very exciting! my mw said that women usually go into labor w/in a few days of losing their mp... :

ETA: rather, when they have bloody show. would that count for you, do you think?

: I bet it won't be long!

Yay for you!!! I hope something happens soon.

I started losing pieces of my mucus plug last Thurs. We thought maybe he'd arrive over the weekend. Nothing.

This morning I started losing more....it was brownish and snotty. I guess Thursdays can now be called mucus plug day. LOL
