Weekly Chit Chat week of the 19th!

Sorry I always start these things on the end of the week...

Today is much better!!!! DD is amazingly feeling well, and her fever is GONE!!!! When they ran the flu test yesterday, the nurse had marked it negative, and then the dr. got out a magnifying glass and said that she thought she saw something and called it positive. Anyways, she is getting better, just some coughing Both of the kids are on Tamiflu, dd for curing it, and ds for prevention, although I feel terrible giving him meds for something he doesn't have, I wanted to take all precautions. ANyways, I feel good, overly run down though, although I think that has to do with my constant insomnia I am experiencing!!!

Other good news is that our car that was wrecked should be finished today and ready for pickup soon .... so now I can get all three car seats in the car

My mom and step dad are headed down tomorrow, so that is nice. My bags are packed and I am cleaning up the cosleeper right now, and will have that put together within the next hour or so.

Things are looking good today, and for once this past two weeks, I feel :

I'm so glad things are looking up for you! You needed a good week after all you've been through lately.

Everyone in my house has been sick, too, and finally everyone is over it or at least on the downhill side of it.

We are slowly getting moved into our new house, and it's starting to feel like home. We just need to buy a washer and dryer and some living room furniture and we'll be settled. This is what happens when you give away all of your large appliances and furniture, move across the country, and then live with family for 8 months.

We also just now bought the baby's car seat, set up the co-sleeper (a gift from MIL who can't stand the thought of a baby in our bed), and got some clothes and blankets for the new little one. I think we're ready now.

Of course, now I'm not having nearly as many contractions or other signs of impending labor as I was when we weren't ready.

It sounds like both of you are really getting ready and just about there.

I still feel completely unprepared. The house is still being remodeled, so I still haven't been able to create a nest and set everything up so that I feel better. I watch another week go by and feel so frustrated.

However, I feel really good. No real body pains, I sleep well, everything is a go for our homebirth. As of today I am 36 weeks and so my midwives will do the home birth if I go into labor.

I am still working, and the way things are looking I will be all the way up to labor. Luckily I make my own schedule and work from home. I had a shoot today and feel really good about being this pregnant and still able memorize and speak in front of the camera.

Tonight we have a Birth Class, we had to make some birth art for it and I took hours sculpting my version of a pregnant woman. I painted her today and totally had so much fun doing it. I can't wait to share it tonight.

Hope you all have a great week and that we have more babies being born everyday!

Why is it that we all decide to move, or sell our homes, or what not during this time, and then we all scramble to get things done? Must be the crazy hormones?

I know what you mean! We just started re-financing our mortgage last week, and will probably close in mid-March....right around the time that I'm due!

I finished up everything I needed to get ready for the baby this past week. I'm still waiting for DH to install the carseat -- not sure why he's resistant. At the moment it's just sitting on our bedroom floor (which is really bugging me for some reason). I mean, it's going in the car anyway, so why not just go ahead and get it in there, right?

Today I'm doing up laundry so that I can start packing my bag. There is a specific outfit I plan to labor in, plus a gown I want to wear after the delivery and I need to make sure their clean, just in case.

I finally got my burst of energy this week and am loving it. Still making myself take a nap in the afternoon so I don't overdo it. But I'm definitely getting more done.

Yesterday was a big day for me (as I've mentioned in several threads already!). My normal BH contractions became increasingly regular throughout the day, until they were coming every 2-7 minutes last night. And that was with mild/medium cramping which radiated around to the lower back and down into my thighs. Nothing slowed it down until I went to bed last night. Now I'm anxious to see what happens today.

I definitely feel like I'm in pre-labor. But I'm hoping baby stays in at least another week or two. I'm only 36 weeks today....starting week 37 tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is feeling good! : )

It's exciting to read about what everyone's feeling, especially when so many seem ready to have their babes at any time! :

The frank breech thing is worrying my mind a little, but I know I have some time (35 weeks 4 days today). I've been to the chiropractor twice, and go again this morn for more Webster technique. This chiro has a 100% success rate with the mamas she treats for breech babies. I've also been doing tons of inversions at home, but still no somersault from baby.

Kinda funny, DH told some ladies at work the baby was upside down, and they told him the baby was supposed to be that way. He had to clarify...baby is upside down from upside down. Heh.

We're going to our birth preparation class this weekend, a short version of Birth Works. Our doula is teaching it, and I'm really looking forward to it.

It is exciting to log onto MDC and see so many March mamas with labor signs...won't be long before we're trading posts on a different board! (I hope there will be a March 09 board).

amybird- still sending turning vibes to your babe!

Like a couple others, we have some sort of virus running amok in our house. DD came down with a fever last friday night- very suddenly and with no warning. A couple days of fever on an off and then a horrible cough. She finally started feeling better yesterday in time for DS to come down with the fever. I kept DD quarantined in her bedroom all week- so as not to spread what she had around the house. Easy to do with an 8 year old, but it is going to be impossible to do with DS who is 4.

OH PLEASE, please, please... I want to say perfectly healthy- and I want both kids recovered before the baby is born.

Best news of all- today is my last day at work : Earlier in the week I thought about maybe coming in and doing half days next week- but truthfully I am just too tired, and my feet get too swollen. I've been miserable the last couple days here at work. I also think that until I put work behind me the babe won't really think about making an appearrance. Plus, I'd like to savor this somewhat bittersweet time right before the baby is born- knowing that everything will change soon and enjoying things just the way they are now.

I slept all night last night!!!! first time I've been able to do that in almost a week.

I just finished getting the couple of things we still needed for baby last night. I've still got a lot of cleaning I'd like to get done before baby arrives but at this point I'd really just like to meet my baby soon.

ugh we moved at 32 weeks and it was horrible. I'm never moving while pregnant again! I'm glad stuff is going better for some of you this week. So many people are having a tough time at the end so it's nice to hear good news.

Elliot is doing well. He's already outgrowing some of the preemie/newborn outfits he started out in. He nurses great and still poops 10 million times a day. I still have 30 lb to lose which is depressing but I'm trying not to think about it until i get the ok from the dr to start running again.

I'm struggling a bit with managing 2 kids at once. Getting DS ready for preschool is the hardest. Getting 3 people fed, dressed, and out the door seems to take forever. Bedtime is also a challenge, though not as bad as the morning. Overall though it hasn't been as bad as I anticipated. I'm able to get all the usual housework done while ds1 is at school and things are fine in the afternoons with the 2 of them. I just can't seem to do anything with a time limit!

I just had my 36 week midwife appt this morning. Everything is looking good. I'm measuring 35-36 cm, so right on track after my measuring too small scare a couple of weeks ago. I gained 3 lbs since my last appt, a little over a week ago, which take me to 35 lbs total gain so far this pregnancy. Pretty uneventful appt.

I found a great deal on a Britax Marathon for the baby and my parents are going to buy it for me- yay! I have a friend that said I can use the fleece bunting thing that she has for her baby since her daughter isn't due until April and she probably won't get to use it. And another friend who is going to loan/give me a baby monitor. Things are coming together. No signs of labor, but I didn't have any with the boys either.

I look around the house and see a million things to do and am trying to get as much done as I can, little by little. On Tuesday I tore the fridge apart and thoroughly cleaned it and also scurbbed the kitchen floor. I try and do a little cleaning in the basement whenever I get a chance, too. I have 15 minutes until I have to wake up my 3 year old and pick my 6 year old up at school. I'm off to see what I can get done...

Yay, Aly!! Glad you've made it to term.

As for me, I seem to be leaking, not sure if it's just extra diescharge or amniotic fluid. Slippery and clear with a musty, semeny smell. I'm on my third panty liner in less than two hours. I vaguely recall having a slow leak with my youngest. Not sure how long it lasted. I'm trying to drink more water and am eating lots of clementines. When I had my u/s for measuring small, they estimated my amniotic fluid to be normal, but from what I've looked up it was the low side of normal-I'm thinking 8. I guess I'll just play it by ear today and call the midwives tomorrow to see what they say.

My little ones have been sick all week (head cold/sinus/cough junk--no fevers) and I woke up with it yesterday morning. I've never had sinus problems like I've had this pg. I am really miserable. So, we've got less than 3 weeks to get everyone healthy! Then I'm going to go through the house and disinfect everything.

I don't really have any pre-labor stuff going on, but it will kick in soon. I'll be 38 weeks on Thursday. Baby is still very active but seems to have more of a sleep/wake schedule now. Can't wait to get my hands on him!

marieangela - I was quizzing my doula yesterday about discharge/pee/aminotic fluid. She said a semen smell was a good indicator that it was amnio fluid! (Unless, of course, semen was recently left in your vagina).
That is what my Amniotic fluid felt/smelled like last time I was pregnant and my water broke...for what it is worth.
yep- it was amniotic fluid. See my other post...http://www.mothering.com/discussions...play.php?f=460

I was measuring 42-43cm today. : I tested negative for GBS, though! Woohoo! No IV for me!

This past weekend I vomited, had diarrhea, was exhausted, had some cramping, etc. I was soooo hoping it meant something was about to happen, but nada. :

I wouldn't be so darned anxious if I was able to take these last couple of weeks off work. I just absolutely DREAD every.single.day. of my job. I literally get the "Death March" song stuck in my head on the drive into work.
So I have a question for you ladies, its probably TMI for most people, but here I'm sure it WELCOMED :

Tell me about your CM these days? For the past 3 days I have woken up to unimaginable amounts of snot like CM. The kind where the first time you wipe you almost have to scoop bc you know wiping is NOT going to do enough. Its mainly clear or maybe a tiny yellow tint to it. I lost my mucus plug last week, complete with the whole bloody mess, so I'm reasonably sure this is just mucus, but WOW! I was not ready for this. Where is this stuff coming from? This morning I had to wipe 5 times just to be able to stand up. I feel like I need to be drinking extra water bc of how much mucus my body is producing :

I was almost worried that I had a little infection or something in there but my Dr assured me that it's not and that at the end of pregnancy that happens. Ahhhh I guess we shall see!!!
