Red Raspberry Leaf tea

I'm hearing contradicting thoughts on how much you should consume, and I'd like to hear what you ladies are doing.

One MW told me - drink a cup or 2 a day. Another said I had to brew it for a minimum of 6 hours and drink 24 oz a day to have it be effective.

Not surprisingly, I've been following the easier route up to now...

I'm doing about 2 cups a day and letting it steep like 1/2 hour to an hour.

I know Susun Weed's recommendations are for a longer steep, more like the one you mentioned. But I've never heard of drinking 24 oz. ???

The only other thing I've read a lot is to slam a really strong brew as hot as you can stand it when labor's really on. But not more quantity-wise, just using more RRL.

I had read 1 cup for every trimester but I really like it so I've been drinking about 4 cups. I make a gallon at a time and drink it iced.

I've been drinking one cup each morning. I have bulk rrl, and use about 1T or so for an 8oz cup, steeping for anywhere from 20-45 min.

I've heard the same, 1 cup/day for each trimester...but never get a chance or think about it in the evenings.

lila, if you're using bulk rrl to make the gallon, how much of the rrl do you use? I bought some cheesecloth a few weeks ago so I could start making a gallon at a time, but I haven't checked to see how much rrl to use. tia!

I've been drinking it on and off throughout my pg and for the three years prior(thinking it might help the c-sec scar). I pretty much went off it from weeks 30 to 36 because I started feeling crampy afterwards and was worried about PTL. Now that I'm passed 36 weeks I'm hitting it hard... 16 to 32 oz per day, steeping 30 to 45 minutes. I usually drink it hot with a little honey and a lot of cream, but I have done iced in the past and it is also good.

I'm hoping I will be able to see the benefits from it during my labor even though I went off it for about 6 weeks. I've read that when labor begins and throughout labor you should drink as much as you feel you can as strong as you can to make for an easier labor... I am going to try it out.

I use 15tbsp per gallon I make. I don't know if that's right or not but the bulk package I bought said 2 (or maybe 3tsp) per cup and it works out to be the 15tbsp per gallon. I actually do 7/8tbs in a quart jar twice and then add more cold water (if that makes sense). There's just so much of the herb when you make it in bulk and that makes it a bit easier to handle. I'll probably start making it a lot stronger soon, I don't think you really can drink too much of it at this point.

I use two tea bags in a one gallon mason jar. Boil the water, pour, let it sit for about an hour then drink about 1/2. The other half will sit for the rest of the day. I drink the rest throughout the day.

I've been having a couple cups a day of RRL/Nettle tea. I don't let it steep, though, I just run it through the tea machine. I should probably be leaving it for awhile, but I'd just end up forgetting about it if I did that. I'd rather have a couple cups that aren't as strong than none because I forgot about it.

I'm definately doing the strong brew of quart when contractions start. And maybe sibbing it every now and then.

Oooo! Thanks for this. I just got some yesterday but have only been steeping it for a few minutes. Guess that's why it tastes so bland.
