ithaca area mamas---dr recommendations?

Hey there,
We are about an hour from Ithaca....far to go for a dr, but I am really wanting to find a ped or family practice phys. who is open minded and educated about delayed/selective vaccinations, as well as open to "alternative" medicine.
Do you have anyone to recommend?
Thanks.

I'd love to hear recommendations, too! I'm due in May and need to find a ped who's not going to bully me into the "standard" vax schedule. Here's to hoping that others will chime in!!

We see Dr. Ellyn Selin at Cayuga Family Medicine in Ithaca. Dr Jamie Loehr is also in the practice, and we've seen him too and like him also. They are ok with non/delayed/selective vax. They do let you know which vaxes are recommended at that age and which diseases they protect against, and they are fine if you refuse them. I think its mostly to cover your butts, in case your child gets something like whopping cough so that you cant go in and say that you had no clue it was preventable with a vax.

The office is across the street from Short Stop Sub shop. They're about a mile from Green Star co-op.

Thanks! A coworker also recommended this practice, so I called yesterday and made an appt with them.

Another practice is Marne O'shea. She is family practice. Dr. Loehr and Selin will accomodate selective/delayed and even non vaxing but they are pro-vax, just so you know that.

Is Marne O'Shea in Ithaca or outside of town?
Thanks for the responses!

There are a few great doctors in town; it can be hard to decide! Cayuga Family Medicine wasn't accepting new patients when we were looking. We love Dr. Marne O'Shea. She's downtown:

402 N Cayuga St
Ithaca, NY 14850
(607) 273-5551

I would give them all a quick call and see what you think! Good luck!

I know this is an old thread but....I was wondering if those who used Marne O' Shea still are happy?  Our pediatrician is leaving the practice and I am trying to find a new doctor.  I called her office and was very impressed with the lady I spoke with and she IS taking new patients.  I just wanted to feel out and see how everyone was liking her. We don't vaccinate at all.  Is she ok with this??? Any info would be great.  Thanks!
