Fast labors/Precipitous labors

For anyone who has had previous fast labors... what are you expecting this time?
I have no idea what to expect!
#1 was induced in the hospital and born after 7-8 hours. Not too fast.

#2 was born at home after 3 hours of labor (perhaps less, I didn't even realize she was coming until about an hour before she came).
I never had any signs prior to labor. I had a tiny bit of bloody show just before 11pm and she was born at 1:45 am. My water broke during labor (never felt it break) and I have no clue when my mucus plug came out (The midwife found it on the floor, lol~TMI, but it came out at some point during transition I think).

I am at odds this time, wondering if it's going to be faster or what? Will I have any signs that labor is coming??
We are trying to prepare for a quick delivery, but I guess I just have a hard time not knowing what to expect!

To precipitious birthers~what are your experiences??

No help here, but my labors were only six and four hours long, so I am hoping this one goes about the same!

I’m in the same space of just wondering. I guess we never know?

My first was 32 hours of induced labor (with almost two hours of pushing).

My second was less than 2 hours of labor- starting with my waters releasing and moving into contractions about 20 minutes later but no other warning signs in the day. Actually, I guess I did have a bit of bloody show earlier in the day but no contractions, cramps, or anything.

My guess is that a natural labor will be more like my 2nd experience. But I also wonder how much other factors are involved. For example, I was in a lot better shape and did a lot more exercise during my pregnancy- were things faster because I was in much better shape?

I’ve heard stories of just about everything and anything. Truthfully, though, I didn’t mind having a fast labor and wouldn’t mind again.

Not from your ddc (i'm Aug 09) but I wanted to share mine.My first babe was born in 3hr 59 mins start to finish,second babe was 1 hr 31mins,start to finish and my last babe was 47mins,start to finish.Thank goodness that I was already at the hospital!!!
Maybe i'll get a homebirth this time even if DH is down for it,we may have no choice!!!

I would be ahppy if it took about as long as #2, definately not any shorter, lol. But I guess that is a strong possibility!
I was taking EPO since week 36 last time, I'
m going to do that as well, but perhaps start a few days later. Who knows if it would make a difference...? lol.

We'll see!

#1 and #2 were both less than 3 hours from very first sign (water breaking) to baby. Even in retrospect, I cannot find any signs that labor was impending either time. The only real difference was in #2, I had contractions for an hour less than #1.

Still waiting for #3 (most pregnant I've ever been currently), and although I figure it will be similar to the other two, I know it can go any number of other ways. I'm trying to prepare for all possibilities.

my first was long...my last three were roughly 4 hrs I'm expecting 3-4 hrs

That is what is so mysterious about birth - you never know! My labors basically have the trend of happening faster and I definitely have more changes dilation-wise with my later births than my earlier ones so that may help things along.

I'm in the same boat as you...
My first labor from first ctx to baby was 12 1/2 hours(if you count from ctx less than 5 minutes apart then it was about 6-7 hours), my second was 4 hours from first ctx to baby(less than 2 if you count from when ctx were less than 5 minutes apart)-it did help that before labor even started I was 5cm dilated. I did have a bloody show at the start of both my labors but other than that I had no sign of it starting soon. I'm really curious how this next one will go and I'm hoping it's not too much faster than my ds's birth. Thankfully I'm having a homebirth so I don't have to go anywhere during labor.
