Washing CDs

This is probably covered somewhere in this forum but I need clear specific advice and get so confused sometimes (pg brain?).

I order my CDs and am patiently awaiting their arrival in about 6 wks times- right around the time lo is due!: I am very excited about having the last of the baby stuff that's needed on its way. : See super excited!

I CDed my ds4 but it seems so long ago that I can't remember what to do to wash them. Hot water- yes 2 rinse cylces. That's about all. so here is a break down of my ?s.

Oh by the way what I have comming is: 24-One size AIOs w/hook and loop fasteners- varying colors (but no white) and 10 Pockets one size- varying colors (no white again).I did buy them from a WAHM who I am sure will probably send along care instructions but I'd like to have an idea of what to do before hand.

Here are the ?s:
1- what do I use to wash them(soap wise)? can I use the baby laundry soap I use on his clothes or a "free" soap? Or is there something better to use?

2- do I wash in hot water and rinse too? what about colors bleeding? should I maybe wash the lighter ones together at first and the dark/brights together?
How about in the future

3- Bleach or no? Borax? and what exactly is Borax? How about vinegar? I think I remember using vinegar before but can't remember what for!

4- 2 rinses or just 1?

5- drying: hot dryer? I know I can hang dry them in the sun too.

6-is there anything I forgot?

Ok please help!want to CD right! So excited to do it this time!

Ok. This will help with detergents: http://www.diaperjungle.com/detergent-chart.html. They don't recommend borax. I'm not a bleach lover, just because I don't prefer the chemicals.

Here's my current routine: 1 cold rinse. 1 hot wash with 1T Charlie's (will switch when I run out to one of the more mainstream detergents), Hot rinse. That's it. Many people use vinegar in the second to last rinse, but I've heard it can break down your elastic (haven't really needed to try it), so I'd rather skip it. I always figured it's better to keep the routine simple, then alter if you run into trouble.

Sounds like the colors are all the waterproof PUL fabric which won't bleed, so no need to worry about doing separate loads. I wash alllllll my diaper stuff together. No way I"m doing 2 loads.

I generally dry on medium in the dryer since there's very little sun in Feb. in Michigan. I do hang my pockets that are velcro to try to maintain the life. I hang everything outside in the summer, as long as it's not raining... Periodically (once every month or two) because they say it helps to reseal your PUL.

Hth! Enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy!
