Budget Cuts for Public Schools

I'm in CA and they just passed a new budget that has some major budget cuts for the public school system. I don't know what is happening in other states but I'm guessing it's not good anywhere for the public school system right now. I'm wondering if this making anyone think twice before sending their kids back to the public school system next year? Do you know what cuts your school will be making? I haven't heard anything yet about our school district but I don't know how they could cut anymore. They have already closed a school down and the schools that are left are over crowded. The high school started a remodel that has not gotten finished and one side of the school is covered in plastic. Bus routes have been cut, fees have gone up, teachers aides are being cut..I don't know what is next.

thankfully our school has a fabulous PTA that generates a LOT of funds and so i know art wont be cut.

i heard too this morning and i am waiting to see how it will impact our school system.

i dont have a choice about sending my dd back to the public school she goes to.

her previous school was almost closed down a couple of years ago. they did v. well last year so i am wondering which school will get the ax.

i know for me it means make sure that i continue to volunteer at dd's school.

As far as I can tell, our state cut funding for public schools and as a result they are adding 4 more kids to each elementary classroom. I'm not sure what else the budget cut will entail, it's likely there is more to it. I'll have to find out and report back

My kids go to a really nice, brand new school that we are very happy with. As it is now, my son's K class has 18 kids, so 22 doesn't scare me. But then, I'm not the Teacher or Assistant

If my kids were happy and thriving, it would take a lot to pull them out. Now, my DD has been talking about possibly homeschooling next year (rather than her returning for 3rd grade) but is has nothing to do with the actual school or funding, it's all entirely up to her.
