Another "should I lie" thread about daycare

I have one son in Mother's Day Out, three days a week, 5 hours a day. When he was accepted in, a year ago, he hadn't had his one year vax's but everything else before that. So when he got in he was 1.5 years old, he is now 2.5. They didn't really seem to care, and every time they ask for an update, I just tell them that it is the same as the original copy I gave them which is in their files. And that's it. It's the truth. If they had the energy to check, they would probably want to meet with me....

Now...My other son (younger) will be starting in September. He'll be 14 mo. when he starts, and only one day a week. We are on a selected and delayed schedule, but they will definitely notice that his record is sparse. I'm not really sure how they will react. And if they do react, they will also look at my other son. And then, they'll pull them out and the grandparents will want to know why, and they don't know we stopped lots of vax's.

I am considering lying....I've seen threads on this before but never read 'em. I just don't know what to do. Lying just seems so much easier! Or should I just hand in his "record" and see what happens? Can you get a doctor to write an "excuse" for the decisions we've made? We delay vax's b/c of my older sons allergies and asthma.

TIA!

I don't think it's fair to other children in the daycare to lie. Something like chicken pox might not be a big deal for my healthy child but for another immune compromised child it could be another story.

Tell the truth. If it is outside of the "rules" for the daycare to not be fully vaxed than you will need to find something else. If you are worried about what the grandparents will think than it's time to let them know why too.

I wouldn't lie. And in my state, you wouldn't need to. The schools and doctors want full compliance, but by law you aren't required to. Here you can refuse some or all vaccines for religious, medical or personal reasons. You just sign a form. No big. Lots of kids in our school do that.

I know four families who were refused readmission to a local preschool because they lied on their kids' applications for enrollment. The kids were just a bit too young for the cutoff, so four moms lied as to their kids' birthdates. Now they require proof of a birth certificate, but it was just bad energy all around after those moms were found out.
