Rash cream really ok on prefolds?

All I have on hand is some Boudreaux's Butt Paste, and DD has a flaming red rash on one side Is it ok to use with 100% cotton prefolds?

I think some people might do it, but I wouldn't. I'd throw a liner in there, flushable, fleece, washcloth, whatever...then I wash the liner separately. It might be ok, but I'd hate to ruin my investment. kwim?

Butt Paste is list as a no-no. I would use a liner.

I don't like Boudreax's at all, not even when I used sposies. I love, love, love burt's bees diaper cream. It works great and smells so nice I use it often and it never gets on the prefolds. HTH
