Fever in unvaxed kids? - Page 2

Fever is part of the body's response to unwelcome guests (viruses and bacteria). It's how the body fights off the problem (heating up to burn out the issue) while creating antibodies.

Totally normal to get a fever. Sometimes, my partially and unvaxed kids get fevers with no other symptoms at all.

Thanks for all the great replies everyone!!

One of my twins had a fever several months ago, just for several hours and then by morning he was fine. No other symptoms. This has happened with him a couple of times. The pediatrician we used to see would constantly tell me that if they ever had a fever without other symptoms, they would need to do a complete work up to rule out major illnesses since they're not vaxed. I think it's hard enough for me to be completely confident in our decision not to vax, let alone having the doctor freak you out for something completely normal like a fever!!

We now see a doctor that is very supportive of delay/non-vax, and he's very laid back about illness. It's still difficult for me to unlearn some of the negative thoughts our former doctor drilled into us!!

I often medicated my vaxed child for fevers and I have only medicated my unvaxed child once before I knew better.

I recently read the mothering Article here:

I found it very interesting.
Great article!!!
