Confessions of a knitting mom....

I thought you would all appreciate this story.

I had to take ds' (4yo) train set away for the day (long story there). In his rage and through his tears he yelled at me:

"Oh yeah, well I'm going to take your yarn away!"

It really was the perfect comic relief to get us back on the right track for the evening. I laughed and we snuggled.

: Sometimes I think DH wants to say that to me too.

that's hilarious! my oldest would often try to entice me visit the park by telling me I could "take my knittin' too."

OH, that is too funny.

It's like when my kids ask me for something while I"m knitting and they finish my sentence when I say, "Wait until I finish this row."

Oh, that's funny! My 3 year old is not quite that savvy yet. She keeps telling me I can't have the Dora book she wants when she's upset with me the past couple of days!

Hehehe, yep....although mine get viscous and tell me they will play star wars with my needles (my size 13's) if I don't get up :giggle:

Yeah, ds has learned that one. Last year he was pretending to knit. Suddenly he asked me if I wanted some pretend food.

I said, "Sure."

"Okay," he told me, "just let me finish this row." Wonder where he learned that...

DD, on the other hand, has given me knitting advice. A couple of weeks ago she wanted me to do something for her. "Hang on," I said, looking closely at the illustrations of increases and decreases on knittinghelp.com, "I'm trying to figure out how to make Isaac's hat the way I want it."

She came over and looked at the screen, then turned to me and said, "Knit!" Not terribly specific, but accurate, and she is only 2, after all.

: Too funny!

My DS is only 2, all he's done so far is sneak up and take my yarn and toss it across the room and then laugh at me. He thinks it's great fun.
