I just changed a diaper, DS had about an inch of mashed banana this morning at 9 am. His poop has little black threadish looking things in it and I am very nervous about it. I started recalling reading this maybe before but I have info overload so I wanted to post here before I hit google, someone please tell me this is normal and not blood or something.

I have seen it myself in my kids diapers and I know that I've read it here before that it is completely normal!

I've seen it in banana poop before, luckily I had read another thread about it somewhere on MDC so it didn't freak me out.

Not a reaction, simply "banana poop." Scary though, isn't it? Just wait until your baby eats black olives or sliced mushrooms. Now THAT'S scary!

A friend of mine was totally freaked out by those black threads. She looked at them under a microscope to check them out. I can't remember what she concluded, but I know that dd#1 had them and has no issues with any foods.

Thanks, I googled and saw its ok. So strange though. I'll have to google my next food before hand to so I can read what potential poo's look like. That was really scary.
