For us, it depends on the brand of dipe. Generally speaking though, I prefer snaps because I can get a better fit for my DD's tiny waist. She's very petite and a lot of dipes with aplix-type waists don't adjust small enough. There are a few dipes that it doesn't matter for us because they both work great (Swaddlebees, BB's, HH, Mommy's Touch). But, I will say, the curling aplix drives me nuts because it starts to snag other dipes in the wash.
