Should you walk or rest when you feel something...

I have no idea what I'm feeling or what it's called. Probably nothing- but its hard to tell since this is my first baby. I think I'm having just BH contractions, small ones and the baby is just pushing on my pelvis and stuff, but my question is, when you do start to feel something- wether its BH contractions or cramping, is it best to rest to get them going to start labor ( if it IS labor) or to walk?

Sorry for that run-on-sentence- but do you know what I mean?

Hmmm, if it's actually labor I think walking would be a good idea - but I don't think anything can turn contractions into real labor until it's time!

I was told that if it was at/near my bedtime, to lay down and try to get some rest. You don't want to exhaust yourself trying to get things going just to have it fizzle out and you've lost sleep for nothing. If it's really labor you won't be able to get much sleep anyway! During the day you can walk or just go about your day to get things going though, just try not to wear yourself out - especially with your first you could be in for a long labor

I think you coudl do either but I prefer to rest. Being relaxed also help contractions do their work and I enjoy turning in to myself and paying attention to my body during labor anyway.

the day I went into labor I laid down and watched movies all day. I was just feeling like i needed to rest. The contractions continued all afternoon and when I went to take a walk that evening my water broke. I think you should just listen to your body. If it's real labor you won't be able to stop it and if it's false labor you won't necessarily be able to turn it real

Oh I'd rest. If it's going to be show time resting won't stop it and you'll be glad you did. If it stops, you got a nap! Win win!
