Sore bottom anyone?

Ok, I'll be the one to say it. OUCH!!! I've developed a very sore bottom due to hemorrhoids and it flipping hurts. I used some cream which I appear to have reacted to and it made things even worse! I'm now using witch hazel which is helping a lot but I'm feeling very sore and sorry for my poor botty.

Sorry for TMI. Anyone else suffering?

Oh, I'm sorry hedgewitch! I find the witch hazel with aloe most soothing for any "issues" down there.

Thanks amybird, all sympathy is very welcome! I'm finding the witch hazel is helping, it is just very sore and horrid right now. I can't imagine what I'll feel like after the baby has popped out!

I'm going to get some aloe vera gel tomorrow

I'm right there with you. I have been trying to lay on my side versus sitting up since it puts more pressure there. And my trick has always been putting a makeup/cotton pad drenched in witch hazel directly to the area and leaving it there between the cheeks for awhile. I often wear a pad on my undies so that it doesn't get my undies wet from keeping it there, but I swear it helps to shrink the tissues best that way. Hopefully you are already trying that, but if not there is my tmi tip!

i don't know if you have issues with constipation that is causing this, but i have been taking nordic naturals dha tablets with my prenatal vitamins from the beginning and that has helped me avoid the constipation. i also started taking evening primrose oil each day and recently bumped it up to three tablets a day since i'm now 37 weeks.

anyway, both of those are helping to keep my bowel lose. that may help if you are still experiencing any straining.

I"ve been doing the cotton pad thing and it is honestly the only thing that saved my life! I've even resorted to taking pain killers which I never do but couldn't cope with the pain this morning. It has eased a lot today with the help of liberal witch hazel doses. The thing is I've had no constipation or any issues like that, I think it is the baby pushing down causing the bother.

Sigh, at least it isn't just me anyway!

I am right there with you. Last week I had to break down and use suppositories because I could barely walk/sit/bend/sleep after trying every other treatment under the sun. I feel SO much better after just one day. It is so frustrating because it's not constipation that's causing it so there's really nothing I can do to prevent.

I'm glad I'm feeling better now because my poor husband was getting tired of hearing about my butt issues.

I just went tonight and picked up some Tucks pads (and then thought to myself when I got home....why I didn't just soak a cotton pad in witch hazel....but oh well...)

I hate hemorrhoids! Ugh...they aren't as bad this pregnancy, but I have been using the Motherlove Rhoid Balm pretty religously, it has just been this past week since the baby has dropped down further that I had to resort to something else....

I also am hoping that it doesn't get worse after the birth!

to us and our bottoms!

I use witch hazel a lot, and I buy the tucks wet wipes (not the pads, the big wipes that are meant to be used after going to the bathroom every time). Also, Angel Baby earth Mama makes a great Mama Bottom Spray that feels nice!

I must just say, hemorrhoids are horrible! The tucks pads worked the best for me. I tried prep-H and cortaid too in despiration. I shower every time I use the potty, which keeps me from irritating the area. Definitely the witch hazel in the pads was the best. Good luck to you!!!! I am so afraid what will happen during delivery!

I have a huge roid and its driving me nuts!

You know, I got them so horribly after my last birth (natural, birth center, and the first time I ever felt the urge to push) that getting them again is sincerely the one thing I am terrified of! I'm hoping the fear won't keep me from puishing effectively.

It's all only temporary right?

Prep H has a "cooling gel" that I really like these days too. It has witch hazel and aloe I believe.
