"From here to Maternity"

All I could say last night, several times...was HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm currently seeing midwives who we pay out of pocket for because insurance doesn't cover them. We are *contemplating* getting an U/S to determine sex and so I "faked it" yesterday for an appointment with an OB office to get the slip for U/S so if we do it, it's covered by insurance...

ANYWAYS.........

In their PreNatal Nurse appointment they give you this book. I didn't have a chance to crack it till last night but when I did I couldn't pick my jaw up off the ground!!!!!!!!!! It was horrifying!!!!!!!!!!! If none of you have seen this, they say things such as "Don't interogate your doctor with questions like his C/Sec rate........he doesn't keep track", "When looking for a doctor, you aren't negotiating the MIddle East....just be easy going and nice!", "C Sections rates have risen because the surgery is safer and doctors have a greater concern for the babies", and "Babies often do very well at calming themselves and should be removed from the room by 6 weeks...you need your sanity and babies are loud!".

I cannot believe they are giving this utter CRAP out to new moms!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it...I still can't believe it. The chick who wrote this is, in my book, on par with Ezzo. Grr.

I was just going to not go back to this office (obviously) but now I feel like I should write a scathing letter saying that I'd never go to a doctors office who gave this out.

Has anyone else read this???? Are there any sites or experts who have publicly discredited it???

Geez, the Americanm College of Obsteric and Gynecologists book my ob gave out was more evenhanded than that! Myabe suggest that instead...at least the bf advice was ok as I recall.
