Today is my EDD, but I don't think anything is going to happen.

I see the MW tomorrow, so I guess we'll find out if there's been any progress. I really didn't want to make it to that appt. Since it is officially after my due date, I know she's going to be asking how long I want to go over. She asked a couple of times, but I sort of ignored the question, hoping it wouldn't come to that. She won't force me into anything, but just the fact that it's going to start coming up really sucks. The temptation at this point is overwhelming. I want to get this baby out! But I want to do it on my own.

I've been having more contractions. They're never painful, just stronger. Still feels like BH, but more intense tightening. Enough to take my breath away and they last just under a minute usually. I really hope they are accomplishing something. They started getting stronger over the weekend, so I'm hoping for some sort of good news from the MW tomorrow.

Please send me some labor vibes. I really want to have this baby in February.

I just got my 2yo an appointment with the urologist because his left teste won't stay where it's supposed to be. I'd have to cancel that as well as all checkups with our wonderful CPNP who is non-vax friendly. We'll be able to get IL "Allkids" insurance, but have to stay in state, eek. Cross your fingers he doesn't get the axe! They're cutting 50-ish jobs, and he's not all that high up the seniority ladder.
Yep, he was cut last night.
Thank God Coen was early and not late, as we are now uninsured.

Mal: I'm hoping your baby comes soon!

Dooney: Hugs! I'm so sorry to hear about your DH. I hope he finds something else soon!!

I've got to figure out how to nap with the baby. I always seem to be trying to do something else when she's sleeping. I have a headache today.

I'm 41w 5d today...so right when my dd was born. All my kids have been progessivly later so I'm thinking today or tommorow. I'm good at waiting this time around for some reason!

I'm sorry Dooney. I hope he finds something quickly.

Bathrobegoddess, I hope you have that baby soon.

I went to the midwife today and am 4cm -1, soft and ready. She stripped my membranes and played around with him to make sure he was in the right position. He's comfy in there. She offered to break my water, but I declined today....I might be calling her tomorrow for that. I'm really hoping for it to be tonight. I was either due on the 21st or the 24th, so I'm not that late. I'm ready though.

I hope we get some baby birthing stories tomorrow.

my mom came up last night to hang out with me b/c we thought i might be having a baby...but then my husband told me he had to work today 2.5 hours out of town...so brain took over the body and stopped it all. she's hung out today and played with the kids and kept me occupied and is now making dinner. we are all eager to meet this baby but i have a feeling she'll need to go home tomorrow. just not sure it's time yet.

TMI I've been especially leaky today. I thought I was doing this same thing a couple of weeks ago... I felt leaky but actually had very little wetness. Today I've already had to change my underwear once. I keep the thought of amniotic fluid in the back of my mind... I haven't had any gushes or significant amounts of fluid. I keep thinking if it is amniotic fluid, I will go into labor.

That being said, I am having some pretty significant contractions today. Not just the intense tightening, but getting down right painful. I'm just waiting for them to either increase in intensity and/or become regular in some way. My SIL called me earlier and she got called into work (OB nurse at the hospital I'm delivering at), so she's hoping I come in tonight. She's also on all weekend, so hopefully she'll be there when I have this LO.

Hi everybody!

I've been out of the loop for a little while and completely missed the last two weeks' threads. Aubrey was born on Valentine's Day and flown to Miami Children's Hosp. NICU the next day, and I haven't had a computer in the hotel here until yesterday. So I'm trying to catch up! Aubrey is fine--I'll leave the details for her birth story but basically she's having feeding difficulties that are keeping her from gaining weight, which is keeping her from escaping the NICU.... But all is well and I'm happy to finally be somebody's mama!

It sounds like everyone is ready to have their babies--I hope they come soon for those who are anxious for them to arrive.

an off topic question: do or did you have any colostrum leak from your breasts before having your baby?
I definitely had some colostrum leaking for about three weeks before A's birth--mostly after I got out of the shower. I could express some pretty much throughout my pregnancy. My milk took about 6-7 days to really come in after her birth; I think because I haven't been able to breastfeed yet and had to get the hang of pumping.

I'll try to catch up on all the threads and birth announcements I've missed, but honestly I've missed you all and your support. I can't tell you how much this forum has helped me through my pregnancy, Aubrey's birth, and the last two weeks. I hope everyone is doing alright and I'm sending hugs & prayers for those who are uncomfortable or unhappy right now.

dooney, I'm so sorry about your husband's job. I hope he finds something else very soon.

To everyone who hasn't yet had your babes, I hope things go quickly and easily for you all!!! I love reading the birth announcements. Hang in there.

We're doing well here. Eowyn is very laid back thus far. We're having some spit up issues and I suspect there might be some reflux going on but adjusting my hold and some diet issues seem to be helping a little. We went in for a repeat PKU last week and I mentioned to the ped that she'd been spitting up bright yellow at one point. Sure enough, on cue, she did it and it was bright yellow -- like Curious George yellow. The ped (who is not an alarmist at all) insisted that we take her to the children's ER for a barium test because it was Friday afternoon and he didn't think it could wait out the weekend. So I drove her down there for the test, which she (little trooper) tolerated very well and barely even fussed during.

I was a wreck though and cried the whole time. In my defense it was one week post partum and I'm still rather emotional. I was so scared. The nurse and doctor both were awesome and very kind.

And everything ended up being totally fine, thank goodness. I think the yellow color from my milk was from some cheese I'd eaten (Cracker Barrel brand -- I know -- not great, but I was hungry and my husband did the grocery shopping this week), with annato that caused the freakish coloring. They just had to rule out any blockages in her gut, as apparently yellow spit up can indicate bile or something.

Anyway it was scary but thankfully turned out okay.

She tends to be awake from 12 to 2am at night but aside from that is sleeping most of the time. Which is not at all what we're used to. Guinevere has never been a great sleeper. So I really hope this sticks.

Mal85 I hope this is it for you.
Cordelia slept great last night. From 930-12am from 1230-5 and then from 6-11. I however did not get this much sleep. I fought with ds from 1245-330am. We just do not have enough room in the bed and he is coughing so will keep everyone awake. He wanted dh because that is who has been doing his nighttime parenting. Dh however had only just gotten to sleep and has been doing the early shift with the baby so I can get about 3hrs uninterrupted. So he pulled every trick in the book and we yelled and fought and there were some tears on both sides. He has a molar coming in so hopefully will sleep better once that pops through.
Recovery wise I am doing pretty good. My incision is healing and I think the internal sutures have dissolved as I don't feel them pulling anymore and my nipples are healing.

We didn't wait the 4 weeks... Happy to report all systems are go!

I was thinking yesterday might be a go for me since it was my DH's birthday but my bleeding mysteriously picked up and turned red again yesterday despite me not exercising. Seems back to normal today. So I'll just keep waiting a bit.

Yeah, my bleeding came back and ruined my Victoria's Secret underwear. I blame DH.
