how long would boiling 36 prefolds take?

I have really stubborn build up on some toddler sized prefolds.
They haven't been used in a year, so i know that it can make it worse to sit like that, but i want to take them out of retirement.
How long does it take to boil your cloth diapers?
It seems like it would take days!!!
any advice?

Well if you had 3 large stock pots going at the same time it would probably take about 3-4 hours...i say that as if you were...boiling 3-4 prefolds at one time and doing 3 batches before changing out your water. Then wait time for water to boil again. Now if you have one stock pot then about 8-9 hours.
It took me 5-6 hours to boil 18 diapers and a few covers over a open fire. I let diapes boil for 10 min. I used one pot. Happy boiling mama...some mama's have used the dish washer with success...maybe looking into that would be faster.

i would say 3-4 hrs....i used a big lobster pot and did like 6 at a time for 15 mins each....and changed water every 2-3 batches. so ya....it takes a little time each time even when you dont change water, cuz you have to top the pot off and then when you boil a new pot that takes some extra time too.

oh no! I only have one big stock pot. and one half the size of that one.
I definately would feel weird asking someone to use their stock pot so I could boil diapers hahahah..
hmmmmm Maybe I can break it up into a few days
Thanks you so much! that helps a lot!
