help me find a carrier

DH and I are looking for a new carrier since none of ours meet our current needs. We have a Moby (which she's slowly outgrowing) and Hotsling (outgrowing it too) and a ring sling (I just can't get it to work right). I think it's going to be impossible to find one that fits though. I'm hoping someone here can recommend one that I've missed. We want one that isn't too hot, can do a back carry, can preferably do an outward facing front carry, is really easy to use (I get confused and frustrated easily , is easy to use when you're out (the Moby isn't at all for me), is easy to nurse in, can be used by DH and me (we're the same height, but he's a tiny bit bigger), and is easy to pop DD in an dout of. That sounds like so much to ask for and I just get so irritated Googling carries b/c there's a million and twelve kinds so I get overwhelmed before I even start.

Well, the Ergo is not an outward facing carrier, but I love it, love love love love love it! It is my favorite! I have 7 carriers and I only use the Ergo. it is good up to 35 lbs I think... it can be worn by both DH and I and it is easily switched between the two. It took about a week for dd to get used to not facing out, but now she loves it too. She wont let me put her in the stroller for more than about 30 minutes as the Ergo feels so safe and secure.

Good luck!

I would consider trying some back carries instead of forward facing out. I know, I know, forward facing out is what everyone wants at first, but it's really the least comfortable position for the wearer in any given carrier. Back carries are much comfier and will still let the baby look around.

I would suggest either a mei tai (MT) or a soft-structured carrier (SSC).
Mei tais have long straps to tie but they're not really complicated and will fit 2 different people really well b/c they are infinitely adjustable. Brands - Kozy, BabyHawk, FreeHand, BBO (Ball Baby Overall).
SSCs are easier for some people - they buckle instead of tie, so less strappage to contend with. Brands - Ergo, Olives&Applesauce, Kanga (Bloo Kangaroo), Beco, Calyx. Beco and Calyx have internal seats that make it really easy to get the baby on your back if you're nervous about that part.

I would say an Ergo, Beco or Babyhawk. I have all three and they are comfy to wear my heavy toddler in. I do back carries most of the time, but about once a week or so he ends up on my front, and even at his size, it's easy to do.

I also have a AMC II that can be used forward-facing out, but it's not a comfy way to carry, IMO. I much prefer a back carry, as does DS. He can see the world perfectly fine and his weight is distributed evenly.
