Do you rinse cloth wipes?

I am planning to use cloth wipes, and keep wondering if I will also need to rinse the wipe? How does this work with poo? It seems like you'd want to rinse the wipe, but isn't that a pain? I guess for BF-poo it's not a big deal...but what about later? "Normally" (with sposie wipes) doesn't a lot of poo stay on the wipe?

(Sorry if this is a weird question. I will be new to CD'ing.)

I hold a corner and swish it, but only if there are...um...chunks on it.

Nope. Never.

If the poop is that the stage that it falls in the toilet- then any poop on the wipe that will fall in goes too. Other than that- into the pail.

I've never rinsed a wipe, ever.

I do it with DS's poop because it's, well, really gross. I only do DD's if there's a LOT of it on the wipe. It takes only a couple seconds, and I'm rinsing the dipe anyway so it doesn't bother me to do it.

I throw my dirty wipes in the wet bag with the dirty dipe. I am still just dealing with breastfed poo.

not a one.

nope because typically most of the bulky stuff is kinda wiped off with the front side of the diaper on the way off, kwim ?
i do however give them a quick spray with the BG odor remover spray i keep in the bathroom. not to change subject but does that stuff make anyone else cough ?
anywho, nope no wipe rinsing here.

Only if they are really bad.

ebf poo still here but i can't imagine enough would stay on that you'd have to "swish". i just toss mine in the wash with the dipes and do a rinse and spin cycle in cold first to avoid stains and get any larger amounts off.

I don't rinse them.

This is all good to know. I was beginning to wonder if I would regret registering for those cloth wipes. I guess I could always spray the "really bad" ones with our diaper sprayer.

I don't want to use sposie wipes full time, so I am relieved to hear these responses. Although whenever I've seen women use sposie wipes, they always seem to have a LOT of poo on them, which I think would be so stinky in the diaper pail...

If there is a lot of solid-food poop, then yes, I rinse it just like a diaper.

Sposie wipes are a pain b/c you can put them through the washer, but they fray and make a ton of lint and will clog up aplix. Or you have to throw them away with poop on them, which is also a pain in the bum. You can always use a clean part of the dirty diaper for the initial wipe, and then use a cloth wipe for the final clean.

When I am out in public at events, I often suggest to people that if they don't want to make the leap to cloth diapers at least make the leap to cloth wipes. They are so easy and they are an easy save on money, environmental resources and waste.

Once you get your hands on some nice cloth wipes -- you will see how easy. I would not regret your registry if I were you. It seems like a wise move to me.

Why didn't I think of this earlier? It seems so obvious.
