What to do about headaches.....

Thread Starter
Well, I can't figure out why, but I have had a headache every single day for the last 5 days. It's driving me crazy. I know we are supposed to stay away from Ibuprofen in the last trimester. Have any of you discovered any other great remedies for headaches?

Also, does anyone know why I would start having them now....or have you experienced this yourself? I know it isn't a blood pressure thing. I've had a low blood pressure the entire pregnancy.

Thanks for any advice!

I've had headaches throughout the pregnancy: first it was hormonal and got much better if I made sure to stay REALLY hydrated. More water than you think possible to drink!

Then I've gotten tons of colds from my older child. I found sinus related headaches improved with using a Neti Pot to rinse in the mornings, and trying to get more sleep.
Hope that helps!

I second Goniopal: Lots of water and something to help with the sinuses. My MW said Tylenol was OK and that's at least kept the headaches to a roaring minimum. But the best thing that worked for me was upping my water intake to the point I thought I would float away.

I've used Tylenol Ultra I think it's called. It's like an extra strengt Tylenol with some caffeine added to it. Combined with a coffee (or any other hot caffeinated beverage), it often works.

Good luck!

I had a sinus headache the other night that practically crippled me. I was up in the middle of the night taking Tylenol since I knew it was safe. I'm the type of person that I have to *really* hurting to take anything, even when not pg. I also wouldn't hesitate to have some caffeine.

I second the tylenol thing, the water thing, and depending on you react to caffeine - i don't know about that one, for me, I'd stay away from it...but also if you're not already, see a chiropractor. That usually does it for me if I have a headache whose cause I don't know and it lasts that long.
