article on circ

I was looking up something and came across this article. It says that 65% of US boys are IRC. (I think that's good, right? I mean compared to what it has been. It definitely needs to be down to next to zero) Anyhow, It also says that 30% of the world population is circ and of that 30%, 70% are done for religious reasons. That means that only 30% are done for non religious reasons, meaning only 9% of the men in the world who are circ, are done for non religious reasons (30% of 30% is 9%)
Anyhow, what really bothers me is the last part of the article: "But recently the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UUNAIDS recommended circumcision for adult men, based upon evidence that men with circumcised penises have a lower risk of being infected with HIV." I think that's complete bunck!

I just wanted to throw the article out there and see what others thought.

I think their numbers are out. I believe that the percentage of baby boys being circumcised in the U.S. is now just over 50%. It is generaly accepted that worlwide 85% of men are intact; 15% circumcised. Most for religious reasons. I can't access references right now. Maybe www.circumstitions.com has stats listed.
