Hi

I have always wanted to homeschool but I am going to have to go to work 30 hours a week soon. DH is going to be home with kids, but I am considering sending DH to Montessori preschool in our area (depending on cost--I saw what some mamas were paying a month and it's more than all the rest of our bills combined! )

Anyway, I don't know if it will be a good fit or not. DS is still in the early stages of potty learning so he'll probably be closer to 3 before I would enroll him. He is also very spirited. He loves singing (and I don't mean nice, quiet singing. DH listens to, like, thrash metal and scream-o). He's kind of scattered--he can play for a long time, but he doesn't stay with one activity for very long. He also still uses a paci

We've moved a lot in his life, and traveled a lot. Things have been really upside-down and stressful lately, which is probably why he's so scattered (and why I haven't taken the paci). He's going through a period of separation anxiety, but he's fine in the mornings--8-1 or so (he also doesn't need his paci during this time). But if he wakes up from his nap in a strange place, he panics and totally freaks out.

He loves playing instruments, music of all kinds, playing kitchen, cleaning and helping with chores, and reading/being read to. He is very much going through the stage where he wants to do stuff himself and gets mad when he needs help--but he can do many things alone (put on a coat, velcro his shoes, put on socks, take off clothes , etc). He loves building blocks--not because of building, but because he likes to count to 10 while making a tower (one, two, tree, fowk , fahk , sick, sen, nan, TEN! He doesn't like eight.)

Would Montessori be a good fit for him? Or should I look elsewhere? What can I do to help him?
