Water filters???

Can anyone point me to a thread or information about kitchen sink water filters for drinking, and shower/house water filters to remove chlorine?

We have an RO filter on the sink. But, a friend reported that there is some mineral "dumping" that she heard about. So, they quit using theirs. And the chlorine in the shower...

Thanks, Pat

I'm interested in this too. I used to have a great link that compared various filters, but I can't seem to find it. I think that it might have been on my old (broken) computer.

I'll see if I can track it down...

We just installed a mutli pure filter under our sink. Love it. A friend of mine (engineer) did alot of research and determined the multi pure filter to be the best.

the rainshower brand shower dechlorinators are nice. we have had ours over 3 years now and changed the filer mmmm.... maybe 4 times. that is with an average of maybe 10 showers a week total for our family....so if you used it more you would need to change it more often. you kinda know when it is time because the water flow gets slower when the filter is going bad. you could test with chlorine test strips but we never bothered with that.

that is not the same shower head he have but it is that filter and if you scroll down you will see how the filter works.

you can order from www.lifekind.com or many other online retailers

Something else you could look into while you're looking around. If anyone in your house has baths, apparently some of the natural chlorine deactivators (or whatever they're called) are actually just vitamin C! I researched into it a few years back and started adding a small amount into the bath water for the kids (it was only a small amount like a teaspoon for a half bath) but got out of the habit along the way...

I also bought a fitting for the shower head but found it reduced the water pressure too much as well as the water temperature when it came out by the time it had gone through the filter.

bulkherbstore.com has filters for sinks and showers. I've heard that they are good, but don't personally know.
