Vaccines for Ecuador

Thread Starter
I am supposed to be going to Ecuador with my 21 month old son. He hasn't had any vaccinations up to this point, and I would much much rather not give him any. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience traveling to Ecuador with an unvaccinated child or if anyone has any advice on the matter.

Are you going on vacation? to live?

I would not worry about it. Just do what you would normally do...not drink the water, not eat veggies washed in the water not eat from a roadside stand ect....
I would take SA and probiotics with you in case of upset tummy.
Ecuador is a highly vaccinated country if you happen to believe in herd immunity. this site may be helpful for you.

NOthing is required but you will probably get the usual Dengue zone and Malaria zone warnings as well as the Hep A endemic kinda thing. I haven't been there in three years, but I doubt much has changed...except that you will probably get a yellow fever warning because of what has been happening in Brazil and Argentina.

Before I traveled there, I ate lots and lots of yogurt to get the probiotics up in my system. That seemed to help, as I didn't get sick. I'm not sure about the vaxes.
