why won't it just start???

This is so annoying. I have contractions and cramping all night but it stops when I get up. I am so tired. My MW was here yesterday and I am 2-3 cm but the baby is not on the cervix yet. I have been doing stairs and rocking on the birth ball to try and move the baby down. I never went through this with my other two so I am getting annoyed. I just want to meet this little one. I only have a week left and I wasn't late with the other two so I should be able to make it one more week but I am so done.

Hang in there, baby will arrive at just the right time. I know how hard it is to wait, though.

I'm right there with you!!! The night before last I was sure I was in labor but after 4 hours of contrax about ever 8 mins they tapered off. I'm also 3 cm so I think that makes me feel even more anxious bc I know it could happen at any time.

Good luck to both of us...I had a good cry yesterday and seem to feel much better about waiting today. Although that could be because last night I was actually able to get some sleep!!!

I'm starting to feel the exact same way. Went to the doctor today...still dilated to 3 (just like last week) and getting lots of contractions but no real labor. And then the doctor had to bring up an induction if I haven't gone into labor by my appointment next Monday. I'm not due until Friday, and I'm not anywhere near ready to even discuss inducing. So now I'm getting anxious to start labor just to avoid a fight over this. Ugh.

Labor vibes all around! :

Honestly, I wouldn't mind being pregnant for awhile longer, despite the pelvic pain & endless stuffiness, but the constant wondering if today is going to be be the day is driving me mental. Baby needs to send a memo 'I will be arriving on x day'. Then I could just relax & enjoy this last little bit. I was so spoiled with ds2, I wasn't even expecting him yet when my water broke, then I just had 3 days of wondering when contractions were going to start.

Right there with you all. And, now everyone is telling lots of stories about how third babies come on totally different schedules than first and seconds. Both my others were weeks early. This one is due Sunday and just hanging in there. I've had lots of contractions, but nothing sticks. I'm certain I'm dilated. The baby is so low, I think he may just fall out. But, he just won't take that final step.

Plus, I, too, have induction hanging over my head due to seeing high risk OBs. They really don't get the whole concept of natural birth at all. Trying to figure out how to fight if it becomes a problem. But, I'd really just prefer the baby come out on his own in the next couple of days!

Well I lost my mucous plug this morning so maybe things will start happening. When I lost it with my ds it was about 48 hours later that he was born. So we will see.

DDC-crashing, but I noticed your post. Just a thought--do you know what position your babe is in? I was at an ICAN meeting recently, and someone mentioned that they had heard some anecdotal evidence.that this kind of labor pattern could be indicative of a posterior baby.

I see that you've lost your plug now: good luck!!!

Me too. I have been contracting every 15-20 mins since last night sometime. I know for a fact that baby is posterior, as was my DD, and this is how her labor began too. i have been doing all i can to help him turn, but nothing is working yet. I do have a very clean floor though because I washed it on my hands and knees today .

Baby had been posterior but on Monday baby was in the perfect position.
