List them here, ladies.

So far (we are in sw Wales) we've been to:

Museum of Welsh Life (twice)
Ogmore Castle
Castle Coch
Pembroke Castle (our fave so far)
Tenby
Blue Lagoon (this was fun, I think I'm up for a visit here again soon!)
Stonehenge (a visit to Avebury in the near future)
Hay on Wye (we loved it! )
Dunraven Gardens (can't wait to see it in spring!)

This weekend we are visiting the zoo in Bristol, and maybe even to Ogmore or Dunraven again.

We plan a trip to County Cork asap.

Do you want to drop me a PM when you're near Avebury? I'm just up the road.

South West:

Bourton on the Water
Avebury
Bath Christmas Market
Bowood House
Kew Gardens (which I know is London, but it's travellable from here.)
Cotswold Wildlife Park, if you like the surreality of zebras and country houses.

East Anglia

Ickworth House
Colchester Zoo (probably the best zoo we've ever visited)
Kentwell

North East

Bamburgh/Seahouses/ Farne Islands
The Forbidden Corner
Fountains Abbey/ Studley Royal
Beamish
High Force
Royal Armouries
National Railway Museum
Seven Storeys Childrens Literature Museum
Childrens Gallery in the Laing

We don't get out of the Oxfordshire & London areas much (no car), but agree that the Cotswold Wildlife Park is great! Almost completely outdoors, though, so go in warm weather or bundled up appropriately.

The Didcot Railway Centre (right at the Didcot Parkway rail station) is a fabulous day out for little ones (and big ones!) who like trains. They're open at weekends and school holidays, and if you time your visit right, you can see steam trains in action or even ride on one.

Cool!

Good to know about the Railway thing. I do have a train fan in my family.

So tell me more about this Children's Literature museum.

Their website is www.sevenstoreys.org.uk but it seems to be down atm. I liked this piece about it though.

It's not somewhere to travel to the other side of the country for, but if you're in that area (and you NEED to go to Northumberland and Yorkshire while you're here, they have some of the most beautiful scenery in the country) it's definitely worth a visit.

South West: The Eden project. Fantastic.

Norfolk: Bewilderwood. Great fun.

The Eden Project is on our must see list for sure!

We went to the Bristol Zoo, and while it is a small zoo, it was lovely.
