SO, I am a big LOTR fan! As is DH. WE saw the first 2 as soon as they came out. Now here is the third movie and DH isn't heer to watch it with me! I'm guessing te third won't be on DVD until november and I really don't wnat to wait until then. I am dying to see it, but feel bad about DH. I have waited to see alot of movies because he is gone but don't think I can hold out. BUT I'm the only one into "those"kinds of movies so I'd have to see it by myself. WWYD? Wait for another year or brave the lone and go see it?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

GO!!! And then you can watch the extended DVD together with bits that will be new to you too. I think the theatrical DVD will be released earlier than that. Maybe soon enough you could mail it to him
And besides, it is a book, so it;s not like you'll spoil how it ends for him accidentally.

Hi, fellow military mama!!
I went through this situation back when Star Wars Episode I came out (DH was out at sea; we're Navy). There was a rumor that somehow the guys were going to get to a copy of the movie to see on the boat. They didn't in the end, but me and another wife discussed the pros and cons of going anyway, whether or not the guys got to see it. We so wanted to go with our DHs, but we couldn't wait to see the movie. So we went to see it anyway, but kept all details of the movie from the men. When they got home, we saw it with our respective DHs.
Now my situation was a little different from yours in that I did have someone to share the movie with. That is part of the fun...rehashing details of the movie with someone. That said, however, I have gone to the movies alone and that has its good points, too. I actually enjoy it, especially when it's a non-peak time and the theater isn't crowded...
Anyway, I would say go for it! Make it special when DH comes home, though and watch it with him as if you hadn't seen it yet.

I don't have a DH, but I had no one to go see the 1st one with and I went by myself. It is a must-see on the big screen (if you are able) so I would go see it!!! Watch it again when your DH gets home!

I really think you should go. You are giving up a lot to support his deployment but you don't have to give up everything. It is not uncommon for spouses of military to slowly become resentful of all the time that their lives are on hold. Don't let it happen. You will still enjoy the hell of it when you see it with him.

GO!! You are going through a very rough time right now and I am sure he would be glad if you had some time to enjoy yourself.
My BIL was deployed awhile back and my sis had it pretty rough.
Go and have fun. You deserve it.
