Good newborn carrier

I have an Ellaroo wrap that I bought for DS. I kind of wish I hadn't. Somehow I didn't realize it was going to be about 73 feet long, and it's so hard for me to get it on and off. I also started late, so DS didn't like being "tied" up.

I am hoping to wear Baby#2 more, but I can't imagine using this monstrous Ellaroo on a newborn...What is good for a brand-new baby, something that makes breastfeeding easy and discreet?

Well, I found wraps to be the easiest for a newborn- I used a moby and tied it in a FWCC in the morning and just popped the baby in and out all day long. It was kind of like wearing an extra shirt but very comfy.

A ring sling might work if you don't mind switching sides. They're good for nursing but I never felt like I truly had both hands free with one. Lots of mamas swear by them though. Or maybe a pouch?

Did you nurse in your Moby? I guess the plus side to my Ellaroo is that it feels like it would be secure for a floppy newborn and could be truly hands-free, which I will want with a toddler running around. Maybe I just need more practice tying it...

i like the moby wrap for newborn stage. The only downside is that the stretchiness makes it less supportive rather quickly as baby gets heavier.

if you are venturing into other carriers, a ring sling or pouch might be simple enough yet discreet.

The only thing I could nurse in during the newborn period was my Hotsling.

I liked the unpadded Maya Wrap.

I love my rs for the newborn stage. I use it almost exclusively from birth to about 5 months.

Oh and for breastfeeding I love the tail of the sling. It is very discreet.
