crampy after internal exam?

is this normal? i feel really crampy (mild) and have been having a ton of contractions since my internal exam at my midwives office a few hours ago.

i was only 1 cm. dilated and 50% effaced so i know labor is probably still a couple weeks off, but i haven't felt cramps like this until today. the contractions are not as surprising, i've been having them pretty regularly for almost a week now!

Yeah, it's really normal to feel crampy after an internal. I wouldn't think too much of it.

It's totally normal. Having your cervix messed with can release prostaglandins, like when you have sex or get your membranes stripped.

I was checked last week and was 1cm and 50% effaced, and was bloody and crampy afterwards. My mw said both are normal.

That doesn't necessarily mean you're not going to go into labor soon! I was 0 cm when I went into labor with my son.

No cramping today - still a fair amount of contraction but nothing even close to regular or painful one's!

I've instructed my husband that we will be having sex at least once a day for the duration of this pregnancy though. He was heartbroken, as you can imagine
