hair care for 2yr. old

Hi...I'm new to this site...REALLY NEW...and I'm still figuring out all this different forums, etc. So...don't know if this is the right place for this post...but....my almost 2 yr.old girl has very very fine hair...still not real long...it's just now getting in her eyes and the back of the hair curls a little bit and hits just below the neckline. I don't want to cut her bangs cause I want it to all grow out even (plus she just doesn't have enough hair for me to cut)...and I can't get her to keep bows in her hair to keep the bangs out of her eyes. (she's NEVER had one singl haircut yet!). Often her hair looks really messy with lots of a little flyaways...I call it the Donald Trump look? Ever seen his hair? That's kinda what it looks like when it's messy. Soooo...my question is this...is there any kind of safe hair care product I can use on my daughter just too smooth it out or keep it down...like a hair glosser or something?

Thanks for any ideas!!!

My girl has hair like this we use small rubber bands to hold the hair out of her eyes in a small pony tail that I then flip in on itself so she cannot pull it out.

I just started putting my DD's hair in pony tails. I found some small, no-cut rubber bands that we use. You may also want to try a very small amount of olive oil or baby oil for her hair. (like rub it into your hands and then rub down her hair - otherwise it will look greasy)

Thanks for everyone's replies!!!

I don't think my daughter has quite enough for a pony tail holder...but I'm trying. I did get the little tiny rubberbands...but they break so easily!
As soon as I try to put both my fingers in it to get it around her hair, they pop and break. I'll keep trying though.

And...I, too, was thinking of using a tiny amount of olive oil. Thanks for the suggestions! I really appreciate it!!!!!

DS (20mos) has this hair. I refuse to cut it yet. We use a spray bottle with water and a small amount of california baby conditioner mixed in since the conditioner isn't required to wash out. It helps with the wintery static too HTH

Would she keep one of those stretchy headbands on?

dd is like this; she has quite a bit of hair but it's very fine. we used to put ponytails and clips in (we did for about 8 months or so) but now she pulls them out within 30 seconds no matter what we do! i've just resigned myself to my kid having messy hair because i don't know what to do. none of it seems to bother her; even when it's static-y and in her face.
