1st appointment set

I have my first appointment set for March 19! I have fibroids so the Dr. will need to take a look to see how big they are. I am hoping to see a little blinking light!

When will you first appointment be?
Mine with my midwife (she was the assistant midwife at my homebirth with my first) will be sometime at the end of March. We haven't set a date yet, but I'm looking forward to having it!

Good luck with the fibroids and your dr. I hope everything is fine and won't get in the way of your baby.

I'm not making an appointment. I will get a blood confirmation for my own record. I haven't exactly made up my mind. I want to homebirth unassisted, but if I don't want to go through with it, I will just go back to the birthing center I had my last baby at. It was a great experience. But I don't want all the unnecessary appointments and tests.

I have my first appointment set with my midwife too! March 11. I'm planning a homebirth this time and am so excited.

I need to set up an appointment with my regular doc too for thyroid blood testing, but that's not quite as exciting

Hope your fibroids are not bothersome, sneetch!

Thanks for the Fibroid well wishes. All went very well last preg, so I am hopeful.

Is this pregnancy real for anyone yet?

I got a midwife!!!!

I called the midwifery group in town as soon as I got my BFP. I`ve been told by so many people that you have to get in line as soon as possible, because there aren`t enough midwife in the city to cover need and alot of people end up meeting theirs late in the pregnancy. I was super lucky, because when I called, the lady I spoke with said that I was the first November call, and gave me the name of a midwife and an appointement for late March right away!!!

I made my appt. this morning- April 15th. I know that's a long way away, but I really want to avoid the u/s as early as possible. They wanted to do it between 8-10 weeks, but the doc was going to be out of town then, so we scheduled it after she returned. Fine by me. Unless we have bleeding or something, we're chillin'.

Oh it's real for me! I knew when I implanted! I got so nauseas that I threw up, and that happened twice in one day! Extreme morning sickness that day! I tested that day, for hubby's sake, and it was negative. I told him it was too early. Then I tested that Sunday morning and it was a faint line. Tested a week later, a darker line. Tested last week and it was as dark as can get. I've never showed up on an hpt at 3 weeks!! NEVER! My stomach still gets nauseas and the smells yesterday almost got to me and made me hurl! I'm thinking twins, but I don't have anything that tells me otherwise. I've already gained 5 pounds just with the first 3 weeks. Not sure how much since then, I need to jump on Wii Fit and weigh myself. Only sour things like lime-salt helps with the nauseasness.

ARGH! My appointment is not until April 13! I was really hoping for end of March. I really want to see that heartbeat!

ShwarmaQueen, I will try to emulate you and just chill...

Yes! My thing is that all major organ systems are forming up to 10 wks...I'm a little paranoid about the effect of the u/s (though I had it w/ DD and she's fine). Re the heartbeat, if you lay completely still and really focus on your uterus (above pubic bone) after about 6 wks, you can 'feel' it. Laying completely still in the bed in the morning is when I could feel it.

Think positive!

REALLY? I have never heard that! Wow, I can't wait to try it!

Shwarma, that's quite interesting. I hope to get to try that.

My appointment is set for for this coming Monday. I had a bit of spotting on Thursday and after 2 MC's, I'm a bit scared.

Hope you ladies don't mind if I crash your DDC now and then. I'm a late October mommy, and I feel like I am way behind that group right now. Shwarma, you don't really mean you can feel a heartbeat, do you? Or you can just feel the uterus? I have been poking that area for the past couple days. It seems to be getting firmer and maybe bulging a little. But how do I know if I am feeling the uterus?

I totally don't mind you crashing our ddc! In fact I am absolutely thrilled that you are!

I don't mean I can feel the heartbeat now, but in a month or so I should be able. It's one of those things that you gotta be really 'in touch' with your body, kwim? I remember when my stomach was still flat w/ DD, and I could lay completely still in bed and just totally focus on my uterus, and sure enough, a fast little beat could be felt. So cool! I know I must sound completely crazy but it's true!

Shwarma, I completely understand what you mean, I have experienced it, it is more like a sense of a heartbeat, hard to describe. I like to think I am intouch with my body, but I didn't get the feeling I was pg until I started feeling nauseous, so I am wondering where my intuition, and body sense is ??

Oh my gosh, I can't wait to try this!! I never even thought of it with DS; nobody ever told me it was possible. I will report back in a couple weeks! Ok, back to my DDC...:

I don't even have a dr in the city where we live right now : and since we are moving to another city the beginning of April I'm not going to bother getting a dr now. So I'm not going to get an appointment till the beginning of April sometime. However if my m/s gets really really bad. I might see if I can get some Dyclectin. I used it when I was pregnant with both dd's and it worked really well at keeping at least some of my stomach contents where they should be.

I'm calling my doc tomorrow. Last time they got me in fairly quickly because I had had 2 miscarriages the year before. They did an u/s at about 6 1/2 weeks and we could see the yolk sac. She brought me back at about 9 weeks and we saw the heartbeat. I am anxious about my appt--my doctor who delivered my first child moved out of state and then the doctor (that I really loved!) who delivered my second child also moved out of state! So I feel like I am starting over AGAIN.

And then we are going to be moving out of state in a few months so I'll have to find yet another new doctor!
