Hi!
My DH (yay my first acronym!) and I are in the cha cha pacing, hand wringing, congratulations dodging, bad omen judo-ing, live in the moment, panic suppressing, distraction searching, information seeking, body listening, is my AF (acronym #2!) going to rear her ugly head?-ing, toe tapping, finger flexing, why am i so tired all the time-ing, oh yeah we are living in the moment-ing, (deep breath) potty dance of the "are we pregnant?" limbo.
So, I've decided to submerge myself in a community of mothers who probably have the same values as me and who will not tell me the whole BTDT and brush off my thoughts and feelings as old unimportant news. Though it may be old news to many, it is new news to me.
I am a teacher (in training) and I love working with kids. Many times adults, (myself included), fall into the trap of brushing off children's feelings and experiences as "Not a big deal". While it may not be a big deal for us (yes, someone took your toy at preschool...happens all the time kid get used to it) it is still a rather new, and unfamiliar experience for them.
So in this case (and many others) I may be an adult, but I identify as a child.
I'd like to that all who read this now for taking the time to get to know me, and thank each of you individually for responding.
If things don't work out in whatever is happening in utero, I at least want to get established in a natural and supportive community of wise men and women. Reading through threads, I think this will be a good place to start.
I suppose I should find and read the magazine as well.....
Thank you all,
Monique
