So as i said before in my other thread I ended up being induced.
However I woke up at 2 am the night before wiht ctx every 5 minutes, most i could slppe through but not all. I got up at 5 and called the hospital to make sure they still wanted me to come in. they said to come in for 7 adn my dr would check things out. I went in after finding out the ctx had basicaly diminished to every 10 minutes we deceided to start a low pitocin drip and see how things went. My dr advised against breakgin my water just yet since i said if i wasn't at least 3 full good cm wiht ctx by noon I was going home. I sat in bed for a while and knitted as they tried to get an iv (no luck so they had to call an ER dr up to do it) i got abotu 1/4 of a felted bag knitted up and then teh dr came back to see how i was doing. (this was 11:15) i let him check me because if i wasnt' 3 i was outta there. I was a full 3 and he coudl easily break my water if i wanted. I said go ahead as i had done all my crying adn such asn was jus tready to meet her now. As soon as my water broke my ctx picked up. pitocin was turned way down, but my ct were still not overly regular... however i got up and did nlots of birthing ball bouncing, and such and never got back in teh bed except ot push. At 1pm i started to get uncomfortabel and feel like things were changing . I asked teh nurse to check me since my otehr kids came so fast once i got to 5 cm... i was 7 cm. the dr came over and stayed fo rhte rest of teh time since i have a fast labor history. at 2 i was sure i was 9 or 10 and coudl feel her sliding her down. they had turned off my pitocin and poof . ctx stopped. well not really. but they were only every 3 minutes. so i sat at 9 1/2 cm for over 2 hours! but had a good 3 minute rest every ctx. At abotu 430 i knew it was time and had to push. teh dr was great, lots of peri massage to avoid al rips and tears. My friend was there putting hot towels on my back dh holding my hand the entire time... mom adn MIl just hanging out gettin gme ice etc.. it was great. the best labor of all 4 of my kids. I pushed her head out, and still 3 minutes btw ctx got one shoulder out and then had to wait.. so it was QUITE uncomfortable but nothing overly bad. he otehr shoulder came out and then the rest of her... i'm still in awe after 4 kids that these little people can live in our bodies and how amazing our bodies are at bringing them into the world... the best part... no rips, tears or pain meds at all plus a healthy baby girl to boot
!!! The nurses let em totally do whatever i wanted even take thos darn monitors off for most of it... it was nice.. (course I went in ready to go home! LOL) here are a few pictures from the hospital and one from the other day (the knit pants she's wearing i made the night before she was born as I was sulking on my birthing ball about having to be induced... being depressed can actually make you quite productive! LOL)
