Ideas for locking closet?

I have 2 closets I want to lock without damaging the exterior doors. Both have huge sliding doors that move to the left or right, one in front of the other on a track. Is there some kind of lock I can install that's on the inside that I can then maybe open a crack to unlock? It needs to be strong enough to withstand a strong 8 yr olds temper tantrum when she tries to break in (I haven't come to the decision to lock up everything lightly). Your standard padlock latch comes to mind but I'm afraid of damaging the exterior wood and I think the doors are hollow, not sure.

There's this: http://www.thefind.com/family/browse...ding-door-lock but I'm guessing she might be able to figure that out.

Or there's this: https://healthandsafetystore.com/p-6...ith-alarm.aspx but I can't tell how it works.

I hope someone has some good ideas for you.

p.s. I'm still looking for that sleep info I promised you - I post it as soon as I find it.
