drying time for inserts?

I washed my diapers for the first time- hot wash with 2nd rinse. It took my inserts over two hours to dry on medium heat, is that normal?!

That does sound like a long time. What are the inserts made out of? Some materials like bamboo or hemp can take longer to dry. Dryer balls can speed drying time, and also check your lint trap to make sure it's empty, as that can slow down drying.

How about hanging to dry?

I have microfiber inserts and they take the Normal 40-minute setting on medium heat to try. Every once in a while if it's a particularly large load I have to do a 10- or 15-minute touch-up, but that's it. I'm not sure why your inserts would take so long... hmmm...

All my inserts dry in one cycle I have mostly microfiber with a handful of hemp for nights.

I use the hottest setting on my dryer, though.

3 are fuzzi bunz and 3 are BG inserts

I think its the problem with my washer and something to do with the 2nd rinse cycle- they were very wet when I took them out. I'm a little upset and confused by it!

I think I will stick to drying them on Hot/normal setting so they don't take as long and hopefullly can hang them to dry in the summer!

that might be it 'cause I was thinking my washer spins everything so that it's close to dry before I even transfer them.

If your washer is not spinning out all the water, then it will take longer. If you can get by without the extra rinse maybe that will help. My washer has a setting for the amount of spin-out-can you adjust it?

My BG inserts take about 75 minutes on low heat. I never use high heat because our high heat bakes things. Sometimes I notice that they are really wet coming from the wash, usually if I had too few diapers for the load setting, so I will run an extra spin cycle. I think my washer and dryer are 30 years old, honestly.

My MF or cotton inserts dry on one 42min low cycle in my 1 year old Whirlpool dryer. My hemp inserts I put in the dryer for that 42 min low cycle and they are *almost* dry so I just let them hang with the dipes to finish drying.
