This place is so wonderful. I am new @ mothering. My son is 6 months old and is growing so fast!

I am a SAHM and we live in a small town in Georgia. The nearest 'city' is 25 miles. If anyone has any suggestions on introducing him (as far as playdates) to children his own age, that would be great. My friends that have children are not his age. Maybe he and I could join a group of some type-any ideas?

As a matter-of-fact, all advice is welcome; like I said, I'm new @ this!

Check out Yahoo! Groups -- you can search for homeschool groups in your state, or in your area - there are religious groups as well as secular (whatever your preference) ---- I have found the moms in BOTH groups to be supportive, intelligent, and helpful. My children have benefited greatly from activities organized by these types of groups. Oh, and the kids you meet are pretty great too :-).

PS. You do not HAVE to be homeschooling now, or even planning on it, the moms are welcoming to all educational choices IME. (yes, I know your DS is 6mo, just wanted to throw that in here in case other people read this! ;-)

Welcome! I would certainly check out the forum for the state that you live in and post about what your looking for. I did the same and got several responses back on where DS and I could go for playdates! Good luck and have fun! :

Thanks you all for such a warm welcome. Also, thanks nettieferg for suggesting Yahoo groups, I think that I have found one that I like!
