Velcro on covers gone bad

I've been using Bummis SWW since last September and I'm sad to say the velcros have given up completely!!! I've been washing every other day and have always used the laundry tabs.. Is this normal life expectancy? The more important question though is this: Has anyone replaced the velcro on their covers before? Any tips, as I need to do this rather then by new ones (lol). Thanks

... If I hear "Mama diaper open" one more time.......I'm going disposable.....

Go to an online store that sells diaper supplies (there's a list stickied under diaper making), and buy 1 inch aplix or touch tape. That's the diaper quality stuff. Then you just have to pick out the old and sew on the new. The laundry tabs should be fine, and I assume the front velcro is fine, so you need hook tape for the tabs. If you want it to be able to cross over, you'll need to buy a little loop, too.

thank you so much. I actually think it's the loops that's my problem... I will look for the link.

I like kidsinthegarden.com - she's a nice mom to work with...
