I think this might be the hardest thread to keep up with! I'm a couple of days behind.

Melissa -- Thank you!! I'm looking forward to more gardening fun this year.

MomtoRyan -- Yes, I think this is a legit expense! Even my husband agreed this is a legitimate expense, and he doesn't think anything is legitimate.

Our property's very shady in the back (small property, lined with trees in the backyard), so I can't grow here (tried it, failed), but I'm growing over at my ILs' and we're going to test the water of indoor, hydroponic growing. We focused on getting the landscaping done last summer - planted Hydrangeas, Knockout Roses and Spirea (I believe). We're going to bust up the sidewalk (for free, yay!) and put down a stone walkway (also free, many people in our families farm, lots of creeks to raid).
This sounds neat! I can't wait to hear how it work's out!

Yesterday, not my best day. I went to movies with friends, which I don't mind at all, because we don't get to hang out that much. The $20 at CVS was for pregnancy tests, which I am unable to resist. And yes, we have a dollar store, but I still feel the pull to CVS for First Response. Which was made all the worst this morning by my temp drop this morning. GRrrrrr.

Today, good stuff. I found a delicious recipe for homemade pizza crust, which we ended up having for lunch and dinner! Hehe.

My friend mentioned that our local Walmart put their backyard pools on sale for $184 and I thought that was too good to be true (they are usually $350), so we went to check it out and it WAS true.

today was a pretty good day for me, for $30 i got a dermatologist to tell me i had dry skin instead of skin cancer , i spent too much on chocolate , i bought 14 pounds of grass fed butter from new zealand that was on sale (: stockpiling), i bought some teas and vanilla beans from mountain rose herbs that weren't necessary but will last me for the next year, and we totally got outside and got a ton of exercise .

i will admit, i totally thought about what i was going to post today and how my tally was going to look after this!! like, the fact that i've now spent over half our food budget and we're only at the 5th of the month..... thanks ladies for keeping me accountable!!

It wasn't so bad. My sitter found cheaper, better life jackets for the kids, so her spending was only $40. She also had 20 for breakfast and 20 for lunch, which kind of makes me angry, b/c they went to subway where she could have gotten one $5 footlong and split it, but instead, everyone got their own meal w/ sandwich, drink and chips. Oh well, I didn't put any limits on her, so in that regard, I think she did ok.

The best part is though, I wanted to buy a new pair of pants. I have gained a lot of weight recently and am struggling with things to wear. And we got stuck b/c of bad roads in this hotel for another night, so I told the kids they could get a new book and I gave myself permission for new pants. And I said in my head, I wouldn't spend more than $100 total at Target (which is my total downfall now that I live in a town without one b/c when I go in, everything is NEW and shiny and I want it). So, in the end, the total was only $80 something b/c there was a TJ Maxx next door where the kids got almost double the books for our money.

So, it was a spend day, but I'm proud of how that spending went. I feel like I'm making a lot better consumer choices these days.

1. $0
2. $6.40 groceries/lunch
3. $0
4. $30 taxes, $80 Walmart, $20 taco time, $9 convenience store, $25 pizza, gas (unknown amt)
5. $80 Abi spending, $80 Target/TJ Maxx

* 2/10 no spend days
* $100 total (cash) for food/entertainment while in NY (I plan to do a cleanse while I'm there next month, so this should more than cover it.)
* $50 misc total for the month
* no new shoes for anyone this month.
* eat out for lunch only 1x/week regardless of who pays
Week 1 - Tues
Week 2 -
Week 3 -
Week 4 -
Week 5 -

What's a frugal POAS addict to do? http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/ They have a newsletter and run specials, and the tests are very sensitive.

If this gets edited, PM me.

I need to tally up the damage from the past couple days and update. It's not too bad but my parents are visiting and internetting is hard!

I am sure the kids will save you money in the upcoming months by going swimming and not wanting to go to other places
