Oooooh boy, March is absolutely flying by. With two long weekends away and a million meetings in between, added to lots of fun adventures, I have gotten really behind here. Will commit to updating today; do not think the damage is too bad (hopefully am not just fooling myself).

Hope the month is going well for all of you ladies; looking forward to catching up on your posts!

Jenny -- you are doing great!
You really are, Jenny!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

3/1: $500 cash taken our for all food expenses this month ($20 of that fed the drawer), amount in checking account that's above our minimum comfort level "swept" into savings
3/2: $29.06 groceries, $6.87 household goods
3/3: $39 case of pull-ups arrived from Amazon
3/4: $11.46 localharvest order, $25.52 groceries (isn't it clever how they have the localharvest pickup at Whole Foods?),$20 eyebrow/lip wax, $14.92 household misc. at Wally-world
3/5: went on a day trip - $15.82 gas, $4 fast food that is coming out of the food budget because I left my bag of change in the car. Then $15 for my dinner at Mom's Night Out.
3/6: $11 food, 72.25 household at Costco. I'm so glad dh finally let me buy him some pants that fit!
3/7:
3/8: $40 Hooked on Phonics Kindergarten set (a big discount!), $4 food at Purim festival.
3/9: Exercised! Shifted $80 from grocery envelope to drawer. Milk and eggs at farm $5, $24.97 groceries, $12.30 Mickey-Ds, $11 haircut.
3/10: $14.30 gas, $5 at Subway, $81 dollar traffic ticket that I actually counted the day it was issued in February, but I am just going to count AGAIN to punish myself some more. Plus, I paid it out of my grocery envelope. $174 on food for the rest of the month - THAT should put a crimp in my drive-thru habit! Good thing dh is going out of town on business for two weeks - his organic fruit consumption factors hugely into our food costs.
3/11: $29.36 garden stuff at Home Depot, $5.30 shirt, $15 new sunglasses ( and a candy bar) at Target
3/12: $3.22 at for a bagel at the kosher deli (don't regret it!), $40.64 household stuff at Wally-world, $40.87 garden stuff at Wally-world, $21.19 for SIL's birthday present. Had to take out cash to pay a bill, and took out an additional $80 to feed the drawer.
3/13: $3 n change for breakfast (I made myself tea, then stupidly left travel mug on kitchen counter), $.74 for pencil grasp thingies for dh (used the change), $42 groceries $68 household at Costco. ETA: a lady from my AP Meetup group just showed up with her bassinet, which I bought for $40 out of the drawer and $10 out of my grocery envelope)
3/14: $17.25 household (antacids for me, energy bars for dh's trip)
3/15: on the go all day today! About $8 on fast food, $40.37 for groceries. Once I buy milk and eggs from the farm, I do believe we are fixed for groceries until next week!
3/16: Exercised! $1 at bake sale
3/17: $5 Chick-Fil-A, $3 milk and eggs (balance came out of change bag), $15 gas, $24.50 car cleaned inside and out (it smells like pina coladas now!), $30 at consignment sale ($11 for shirts for ds, rest was maternity clothes for me and two things for the Easter baskets).
3/19: $30 groceries, $36 household (bras, b-day present for ds' classmate, waterproof mattress pad because dd ripped hers to shreds)
3/20:
Goals

1/1 Sweep into savings
285/400 on food (actual amt left in envelope = 78, don't even ASK)
182/300 fed to the drawer
11/30 on finishing up kids' summer wardrobes
12/20 days doing homeschool lessons
2/12 days exercising

1086/1200 total non-fixed-cost spending

Amazed (and delighted) to find after running report for the lat 2 weeks, I have not blown through the food budget. Need to hit the grocery store and co-op tomorrow; will be a big challenge to cap spending at the remaining $100 in budget, but, list in hand, will try...

Absolutely a hideous spending day. I blew my food/household budget out of the water. We are low on meat so I bought some and we do tend to drink wine with dinner so I bought some of that as well. Unfortunately is all comes out of the same budget. Plus Seventh Gen. diapers were on sale super cheap (which never happens around here). We mainly use cloth, but I like to have sposies for outings etc. On the bright side I bought enough milk etc to last until the end of the month.

KEY:

: = No spending at all!
= No unnecessary spending
: = Unnecessary spending
: = No driving

3/3: Paid bills--electricity, conference/continuing ed sign-up, CBE sign-up
3/4: : $150.00 in groceries (10 over limit); $8.00 on budgeted lunch date.
3/5: Paid more bills--$40.00 electricity, $40.00 charity, $14.00 to join a club
3/6: : :
3/7: : $11.00 Easter dress for DD, $13.00 shoes for DD, $30.00 photo albums to organize photos loose in boxes in my closet. $23.00 when DH ordered pizza and soda
3/8 = : :
3/9: : $25.00 doctor copay, $22.00 OTC meds, and : $6.83 from when I caved and went to Starsucks.
3/10: Budgeted lunch out $10.23. Gardening book that I can't find anywhere else, not even at the library $15.00.
3/11: : Still a little over on groceries, $156.00; potty for DD $17.00
3/12: : Why, oh why, does book-loving me keep overlooking the library?? I had so much fun stocking up on check-outs!
3/13: $9.00 in Rx meds, $18.00 to stock up on used onesies and jammies for "still cooking" Baby.
3/14: : $25.00 charity, $100.00 insurance, $10.00 medical copay bill, (here's the : part) $6.00 on Mrs. Meyers cleaner that I honestly could have done without. DH spent $24.00 on headphones, $13.00 on a haircut, and on my request : $20.00 on take-out pizza and salad.
3/15: Friday was payday, so I paid the mortgage and a credit card debt from my pre-NoSpend days of February. DH spent $10.00 for an extension cord for his headphones.
3/16: : $3900 on sleeper sofa and loveseat (yes, Virginia, it was budgeted and well saved for!); $20.00 on two live-catch moustraps
3/17: $8.00 on budgeted family lunch

3/18: : So we caught the $%#^% mouse in our live-catch trap. Our spendthrift "tradition" in these circumstances is that I release the UAV in an open field and swing by Starbucks on the way back. I couldn't resist but to do it again for $11.83 (ahem!). All of this occurred at 6am, with big pregnant me driving in my PJs. I would "love" to get pulled over and have to explain this one . . . . I digress . . . I stayed well within budget for groceries at : $127.00 and had car maintenance done for $51.00.

3/19: :
3/20:: $40.00 on supplies for DDs birthday party, as well as sundry groceries. It pushed me over budget for weekly groceries, but at least we didn't go out to eat.
3/21: $11.00 on party snacks (different party than DD's), $20.00 for haircut plus tip.
