Complication rates are increased by immune deficiency disorders, malnutrition, vitamin A deficiency, intense exposures to measles, and lack of previous measles vaccination. Case‐fatality rates have decreased with improvements in socioeconomic status in many countries but remain high in developing countries.

I am not sure what intense exposure to measles means? Can anyone help?

Why would socio-economic status have anything to do with the rate of complications?

ETA: I am going to try and figure out why they say that lack of previous measles vaccination results in a higher risk for comlications.
