How important is it to keep away a unvaccinated child away from a recently vaccinated child, Im sure it will depend on which vaccine the child was recently given, but if you could just give me some of your opinions.

Yeah you really don't know who has recently had a vaccine so there's no point in getting worked up about it.

I don't think it's important at all.

The idea behind "not vaccinating" is that your child has a healthy immune system, and you want to make sure that immune system STAYS healthy. There are two factors to this: concerns about the safety of the vaccines, as well as doubts as to the necessities of the vaccines in the first place.

Most "vaccine preventable diseases" are NOT all that scary. When you have a relatively healthy child, you really don't need to worry that they might be exposed to a few germs, whether those germs cause "named" illnesses or "the common cold." Your child's immune system will fight off most germs without the child ever getting sick. If your child does get sick, it's likely to be mild and uncomfortable, not dangerous and scary.

The only one I might actually worry about is FluMist, since it's a live vaccine and administered nasally. Other live vaccines shed mostly in the stool, and there isn't a lot of evidence showing that they cause disease through transmission.
