It's really pretty, but I don't think it would be good for beyond one month or two, if that. Also, your baby may not even like cradle. My baby only liked upright / tummy to tummy from the very beginning. And, part of what babies like about being "worn" is being wrapped tightly to your body (the same effect as swaddling--simulating the confinement in the womb), and this looks like the baby would not be that close to you. In my opinion, you just can't beat the moby for newborn snuggles. It's more versatile, a super easy way to learn how to wrap, and the weight is distributed on both shoulders. I know so many people recommend a ring sling / pouch to start out with, for example, dr. sears, but I don't get it...
