Cramps at 3 weeks pp?

I had terrible afterpains, but they went away after a few days. Now, since about 3w pp I have had mild to moderate cramps off and on. Is this common?

You guys are my doctor now, as DH is laid off and we are uninsured.

Well I am not a doc but my midwife did tell me to expect a return of bleeding and/or cramps around 15 days PP.
