Lost mucus plug this morning, safe to have intercourse?

I had blood and mucus this morning...lots of it.. I believe it to be some or all of my mucus plug (I suppose it's called a bloody show?). Anyway. I am having contractions every 10 mins to every 4 mins. Painful ones! and then they stop for a while.. then pick up again. I want to get the show on the road here! Is it safe to have sex after the plug has come out? Am I risking infection?? Pain..... here comes another..... My sister who is coming to watch my boys lives 2 hours away!! Should we do the deed and try to get it started??

I've always heard you're good to have sex unless your amniotic sack breaks. I'd go for it if I were you - but I am NOT a medical professional.

As long as you haven't ruptured your membranes then you can have sex as much as you like. Have fun!!!:
