Fleece Liners for Diaper Cream & Prefolds

I use the thick white stuff for DD b/c it is the only thing that works (and by far the quickest - sometimes with only one application).

I cut up an old fleece sweatshirt and use that to line the prefold when I do use the cream.

should I be washing those liners separately when they have rash cream on them?

I've been washing everything together (all prefolds, pockets, fleece liners, etc) and haven't noticed any loss of absorbency or other issues, but I'm not sure I would know b/c I'm still pretty new at CDing.

My diaper washing motto is basically keep doing things simple until there is a problem.

That being said, I don't think you'd have a problem washing together. The problem is the diaper cream sticks to the diapers because of the cod liver oil and doesn't wash out very well. So, I would think you'd be safe washing together because the cod liver oil is stuck to the liner in your case... so your diapers won't loose absorbancy. Hope that made sense.

I have known one person who had absorbancy issues because of washing their liners with the dipes - just depends, i guess. But I usually recommend to wash them separately, unless there is poop on them, to avoid the problem. It's a real pain to fix a repelling issue once you ahve it! It also depends on the diaper. Pockets or anything with a polyester inner will have more problems than a prefold or something with a natural inner.

I read that rash cream is only a problem on the synthetic fibers because it gums up their ability to let wetness pass through. However cotton prefolds shouldn't be a problem with the cream. Since then I have used Desitin with abandon when DD is in a prefold, but used a liner if she was in a pocket. Then I washed everything together and hoped the hot water would fix everything. I've been doing this for a month and so far so good and I have had no problems with odor or repelling...
