How late is too late...

To call friends who want to be at your birth? I'm just wondering what someone would do if they went into labor around 2:00 am. Would you still call your friend who wanted to be at your homebirth? Or would you just call the midwife?

Assuming you're not in labor yet, I'd ask the next time you chat with them how late is too late to call them.

However, if you are, I'd still call them. If they truely don't give a hoot about the time of day and want to be there, they'll be there in a flash!

If they already said that they want to be at your birth, chances are they realize that could mean a 2am call. But, yeah, I'd just ask them if it matters what time so they, and you, can be prepared.

My friend called me at 2am to be at her birth. It was awesome. She knows she could get called at any hour to come to mine & she's fine with that.

I have called my sister at that time to let her know I had the baby. I would be fine with that and excited!

I asked everyone I invited so I knew their individual preferences. My mom, I'll call anytime. My friend who wants to come told me I could call her anytime as well, but I made sure she understood that could mean ANY time.

I called friends to my son's birth at 4am. If they agreed to be there, they should already understand the unpredictability of it, otherwise I'd worry they really weren't prepared to be supportive, yk? And you certainly don't need any passengers on that voyage!!!
