I'm Shwarma. We have one sweet 4 yo DD, who upon me telling her I had a baby in my tummy, said "Tell God to put a sister in your tummy"! We plan on homebirthing, though where is up for grabs right now, as we might be traveling at that time....we might go all "Angelina Jolie-style" and birth in Africa.

I'm a student who keeps getting knocked up and has to work (will quit work in summer)- one day I'll be able to finish my degree! I'm a foodie (hence my user name) and looooove trying new foods, so any good recipes you have- pass them this way! :

I'm really excited to be here- this is what I've been dreaming of for the past couple years! :

Hi I'm Pam,

I am a 28 yr old SAHM of two girls. Sofie is 2.5 years old and Avye is 15 months, and now pregnant with our third (and last unless I can convince DH for a 4th ). Which will hopefully be born in Nov. The EDD is Nov 9, however both dd's came three weeks early.

I would love to give birth at home, but since we live in Alberta Canada, giving birth in the hospital is free, while if I had a midwife we would have to pay. There is a free birth center close to where we live right now. But we are moving 4.5 hrs away in 5 weeks so I won't be able to use it. However I have had two really good experiences at the hospital so I'm not so concerned about it.

I discovered knitting a year ago, and am now obsessed with knitting all the time. Currently I am working on two little spring dresses for the girls. I can't wait to start knitting for the new baby.

Hi! My name's Melissa. I am 28 and I live in Durham, NC with my lovely husband. I work in drug safety at a contract research organization. I read a lot. I also spend an obscene amount of time researching pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting, and have been doing so for over a year. Now that I am finally pregnant, I think it's time I found a new hobby! It's awesome that you are a knitter, Minsca! One of my co-workers taught me how to knit a while ago, but I never got any further than scarves. I might give it another shot though. I would love to knit some sweet little newborn longies

Hi, I'm Vannessa, 24, from the SF Bay Area in California. DH and I are pregnant with our first. Just found out yesterday. I work in healthcare as a Medical Assistant. Are we excited?! Of course we are! We've been TTC since we got married in 08/09. Funny thing is we got pregnant on the month that we took a break from TTC. I hope everyone has a happy, healthy, and beautiful pregnancy! :

Hi,

I'm Rebecca. My husband, Justin, and I were married in August 2006. Our first son, Carter was born in November 2007 (I guess February is our month for TTC). We started discussing a new baby in May 2008, so I feel like we've been trying for quite a while, but it hasn't been that long, really.

I'm still breastfeeding Carter, and plan to continue to. I hope he continues and we will tandem nurse.

I had a really good hospital birth experience with Carter. I researched my options throughly, and was very decisive in my wishes. The OB that delivered was a childhood friend's mother. I'm not sure I want to "mess with a good thing," but will consider all of my options regarding hospital, birth center, and homebirth again.

I'm a student, getting my Master's in Public Health. I was finishing my Bachelor's when Carter was born. Shwarma, do you tell your professors when you get pregnant? What is the etiquette on that? I never told my professors with Carter, I wasn't in class the last semester before he was born.

I think that is all! So excited to be here :

Hi all I'm Kelly, 42 (!!!!) and am pg with my 3rd. I have a 14yo (Tuesday) DS, and a 9yo DD. I am sooo happy to be giving them a baby sibling.

I am partnered to a wonderful man who is not the bio father to my other 2. He is thrilled, and I am just beside myself.

I am in Richmond, VA.

Maybe posting here enough will make it real.

I'm Michelle, married to my DH since 2004. We've found ourselves expecting our third child sometime in November (EDD 11-12-09, so right smack in the middle again just like my other two) Our boys are 3 1/2 and 20 months. Still nursing the younger one, but will likely wean as I don't want to do tandem again. That was way too much for me the first time.

I'm a birth and postpartum doula, and my business is really taking off right now. Figures, right? I'm going to attempt to keep working through my pregnancy and see where it leads.

I hadn't thought much about the birth, but I think it's a given we'll have a homebirth with the same midwife we did with our youngest.

Hi everyone!

Michelle I feel the same way - like if I post it will help it be real!!

My name is Gina. I have a history of infertility with my first child, DD, being an IVF success. DH and I haven't been careful since her birth in Oct of '07; however, just this month we decided together that we'd like to wait until June or so to begin fertility treatments for #2. My big idea was that I'd like to have at least part of my maternity leave in the spring/summer months so I wouldn't be stuck inside with an infant and a 2 year old. So much for that -someone intervened this month!

It seems this babe has decided this is the right time for him or her and we couldn't be more excited and astonished! My temps were just high for too long so I decided to POAS this a.m. and there was my BFP. Couldn't believe it and neither could he!

FF couldn't decide on my O date, so I'm placing my DD between 11/7 and 11/11.

Still can't believe I'm here! I'm looking forward to getting to know all you ladies and wishing you all a happy & healthy 9 months!! Congratulations!!!

This is my first post on Mothering.com! I've been lurking around here for awhile and finally decided to come out of hiding! My name is Laura and I just found out I am preggers and will be due around November 5!

This will be my third child. I have a 7 year old girl name Annagrace and a 3 year old named Madalyn.

I am a home health RN and a part time photographer. Our family currently lives in Virginia but we are moving to NC later this year (just waiting on our house to sell!).

This pregnancy was totally unexpected and has come at a crazy time in our lives but we are still very excited about it! :

Prego with second child!

So excited to be back in the pregnancy board! DH and I have been married for 9 years, and celebrated our daughter's second birthday in February. Found out a couple days ago that I am pregnant again! Mothering was such a wonderful place for me during my first pregnancy, so I hope to be very involved here during this one! I am a stay-at-home-mama, and a photographer. We did a all natural hospital birth with our first, and are planning a homebirth with this baby. I am especially excited about that! Our midwife is a very close family friend and there is no one I could possibly feel safer with!

Hi!
My name is Melissa and I'm sooo excited to be expecting #2. DS, who will be turning 2 this St. Patrick's Day , is still nursing pretty frequently which kept my cycles away until this past Christmas. I feel really lucky to have conceived so quickly.
Oh yeah, my edd is 11/7.

Michelle~ we were together with our last ds's in the July (?) ddc 07! Glad to see you again!

I am a SAHM of 4. I was a doula until I had my home birth and now I just can't seem to walk back into a hospital with a client.
I am a gestational surrogate (not my egg, or my dh's sperm, just my uterus!) and I had IVF done on Feb 19th. It was weird to know the exact second that 2 babies were placed in my belly, that don't even belong to me!
Unfortunately I am not going to be having a home birth with the baby/babies. The IM (intended mom) is just not comfortable with it. And I didn't really know how much it meant to me until I was placed in this position.
But, I really want to do this again 2 more times, and I will put my foot down and make that be known from the very first email with any other couples!

I can't wait to get to know you all! It was so much fun having other mamas going through everything together last time!

IAmPink, I think it is amazing that you are a GS!! It is something I've always considered in the back of my mind, and definitely will look further into once my own family is complete. Congratulations and a happy & healthy 9 mos to you! I look forward to hearing your story as you go through this pregnancy and delivery.

hi everyone! I have been reading along but very hesitant to post anything because in January I m/ced so early. I was so bummed. but I'm back! and although I haven't had an ultrasound, my hCG levels are rising and are now above 5,000 so I feel a little more confident and thought hey why not finally join the DDC that I've been lurking around in.
so...count me in? :
counting from my m/c on 1/28, my edd could be 11/4? we really really really hope this one sticks!!

Hello to all,
I too hope that this will make it feel more real as some have already mentioned.
My name is Lu, DH and I both work outside the home. We have 2 LO, DD who is 3 and DS who is 17 months.
Our plan was to wait until this summer to start TTC our 3rd and last one, but I guess that was not to be, as we were happily surprised to find out we are pregnant.
Found out yesterday, EDD is around Nov 12-14 give or take a week.
I went 1 week late with my daughter and was 2 weeks early with my son, so we shall see what this little been has planned :
Can't wait to share and get to know you all

I'm in Ontario!!
Here, midwifery is covered by OHIP, but you have to choose between a midwife OR ob/gyn as your primary caregiver. It was a no-brainer, really! I am just hoping for a singleton, and for a normal, healthy pregnancy, because midwives cannot follow you if you are an at-risk or multiple pregnancy.

I have the option of a hospital or home birth, the midwife has a good relationship with one of the hospitals here. I haven't decided yet. It's funny, until I got pregnant, I was all for a homebirth, and my DP insisted on a hospital birth, but now roles have completely changed around! I'm a little nervous about home-birth, and he is all about it!!! I guess I still have a while to think about it!!

Anyway, to introduce myself a little more, I am expecting #1 in early November, after a long year of trying to figure out why I was not ovulating and being followed by numerous dr.s and finally a fertility clinic. Clomid finally made me ovulated after 2 cycles, and we are soooo relieved it finally happened!!!

In fact, we conceived on the one and only egg I produced since August 2004!! I guess, because of this, it hasn't really sank in yet that it actually happened, and I'm looking forward to my Dr's appointement tomorrow so she can confirm it all (6 positive HPTs are not enough evidence for me, I guess!!!)

Hi All,
My name is Denyel (said "Den"-"Yell"). I'm 27. My partner's name is Kate she is 30 (31 on St. Paddy's Day). We've been together for 3 1/2 years (not "married" since it's not legal in our state). This our first pregnancy and we're super excited about it!! Up until now we've had our fuzzy family (who we love very much) but we definitely can't wait for our new addition! We are planning to go the hospital route. Though we don't have too many other things figured out yet, gues we have a little time for all that as I'm not quite 5 weeks yet! :-)
