Eligible for homebirth starting today!

Ladies I just wanted to share my excitement that I've reached 37 weeks so I'm now "eligible" for a homebirth. I'm so excited :.

Is anyone else planning a HB? Have you decided who you're going to have at it? So far it's me & DH, two midwives, a doula, and possibly a friend. I feel like it's going to be a full house!

We aren't having a big crowd for the birth- my mom and the midwives (and us of course!)

I'm jealous I am 37 weeks on Monday, but SC makes us wait until 38 weeks for homebirth. Good luck!!

How very exciting! Mine's come and gone, but it was me, dh, mw, mw assistant and ds1. The only other that we would have had was my mom, but it was so fast, she didn't make the 1,200 mile trip in time,

Homebirth is beautiful...you're going to love it!

Congrats! I have a few more days yet until I reach the required 37 weeks for a homebirth. We plan to have the midwife and 2 attendants, plus my MIL and a friend to watch the kids at home while I'm in labor.

Last time we only had us and the midwife. No time for anyome else and Ds slept through the whole thing! MIL was on the road as baby arrived.

I hope we have enough time for at least the attendants to arrive this time...

Hooray!! Today is my magic homebirth day too!! :
What a relief.

It's just going to be my husband, midwife and birth assistant. That's it. Small crowd. And my son (almost 5) if he decides he wants to be here for it or if I labor in the night.

It's my homebirth day tomorrow - feels good doesn't it???

We are having 2 MW, a doula, and us - plus our daughter (she is 3) and a friend to watch our daugther...though she has told us in no uncertain terms that she doesn't want to be around for the actual birth. The girl knows what she wants!

Yay you!

We're planning a UC, it'll be dh and I for sure. The girls want to be there, ages 10 and 9, but we haven't said Yay or Nay on that one yet. I think we'll just take it as it comes. If the labor is long, in the middle of the day or gets stressful, we'll call one of my friends to come over and help with kids, but it's worked out pretty well in the past two hb without anyone else here.

Wow, lots of people are getting ready :. SunnyDayz you must've had a pretty short labor last time! All of my midwives, friends, and doula only live at most 10 minutes away so I think everyone should be able to make it .

texanatheart I'm in a similar boat, though I'm not sure I'd actually want my mom at the birth. She has to take an 1 1/2 hr ferry plus 5-6 hours of driving so I figure it will be perfect to call her afterwards and have her there to do some cooking and cleaning for the first couple of weeks.

I think it's beautiful that some of your kids want to be there! I have no idea how I'll feel in the future when I get to #2. In theory it seems nice .

I wish everyone the best and will be looking for your birth stories!

Congrats! I still have 5 days left until I reach that magic number, and I'm counting down!
